You live in LA? Well, my suggestion would be to put up with them or move, Earthquakes cannot be predicted (easily) or stopped since they are essentially the crust releaving the stress which is built up by the tectonic plates (LA sits right near the San Andreas fault which is where two major plates in the earth meet, earthquakes near that are to be expected.) However, if you've had a lot of them, or a massive one, chances are it will go quiet for a while. The bigger the earthquake, the more stress is released so bigger ones are actually better than lots of small ones and no big one.

If you want an earthquake free zone, Try the East coast.

Shed do engineering lol. Will take 4 years, you'd still work the same hours as any other profession (at least in the beginning) and you'd make 100k+.
