Hahaha, right. But we're not 'whining' about complacency, merely stating a fact.
It's very hard, psychologically, to approach a last 16 tie as the title holders against a team that only managed to reach the final once and is obviously inferior. We're bound to be complacent, that's why you'll quite possibly kick us out this time around

Klose would be like Suker back then, a quick 6 months with some goals here and there wont hurt.

thats a stupid excuse tbh, we are a team that is second in the premier league! moreover, it's the last 16 of the CL, how can the bayern players be complacent facing arsenal? you are not facing hamburg my friend. everyone at bayern knows if they dont play their best they will get beat easy. bayern wont be complacent, if you guys get beat you will get beat by the better team.

aaaw come on I'm only teasing, you think I'm seriously that arrogant?!
but on the other hand, Wenger would know all about being beaten by the better team, and not making excuses, right?

Don't think Klose wants to move and risk playing time ahead of World Cup but if he does, make it happen! Better than most strikers we've been linked with.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
can't imagine the Klose thing has any reality to it.
Klose's 36, he's got a family, by all accounts he's happy in Rome, and playing, why would he jet to London for half a year to sit on the bench, ahead of his last international tournament?
probably made up shit.

Källström isn't a bad player and he would only be cover for your injuries. A sensible deal, if unexciting.

So is Kim Källström the top top player Arsene was talking about? Arsenal sometimes can be so frustrating.
Källström is not a good player infact he is shit. I havnt seen him play for clubs but he is shit for Sweden.

I will reserve my comments and all expletives for expressing my frustration for a thread tomorrow. I will hold back till the window shut down. Call it giving AFC the benefit of doubt, if you will.

The only reason we're seeing this backlash is because of the names we've been linked with. I'd understand if he was our only buy but this is a stop-gag. Don't act like Wenger had this in mind from the beginning of the window and is now letting you down.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
I understand what you mean but he had a month to pick his players and he choosed to save it to the last day. We are fighting to win titles this season and we are so close but players like Källström cant win you the league. I am not panicking, i still belive in the team we have right now but i hate Källström and if you ask any other swedish fan they'll tell you the same.MJGunner wrote:The only reason we're seeing this backlash is because of the names we've been linked with. Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
Do we have the best team in the league? No.
Do we have the best squad in the league? No.
Do we know what the deficiencies are? Yes.
Are we under the same crushing financial circumstances cause by a stadium debt in the previous years? No.
Do we have more financial muscle? Yes.
Did we do anything about improving our squad to challenge for ending the 'drought' in a season where we have come closer than we have ever been in the last 5-6 years? No.
Did we sit on our asses all month, citing lack of movement in the window as a reason? Yes.
Did we show any proactive moves or strategy, except waiting till the dying hours to look for bargains? No.
Is player unavailablity a convenient alibi? Yes.
------------------------------
@MJ : The above is the logic behind my frustration. It has nothing to do with being linked with big names.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
I dont get this? Wenger complains bout Jan window? but if it was not for the embarrassing loss to Vila at home and last few hours we would not have signed anyone in the summer also.
I know he watches City games, and how strong they are we have a great chances to win, he should have done a better job.
We were always a player away from winning a league in the past and never went out of our way to get that player. I know there are not many players available but MONEY talks, and we have lots of it.
I am sick of this transfer window, cant wait for it be over. I hate the Media, they really played us good this window.
Kim Kallstrom is 10 years to late, it would be embarrassing to sign him and lose Sagna.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread
What ticks me off is that despite having money now, our behavioural patterns haven't changed. We are still waiting till the last minute for a bargain.
Simply put, we continue being ONE-TWO PLAYERS SHORT.

Actually, neither you nor I nor anyone here has definite knowledge of what Wenger and club officials did during the past month, or before. Thus it is not logically tenable to judge a lack of "proactive moves or strategy," especially when there is some evidence that Arsenal actually did try something regarding Draxler (who was never, ever going to be an easy acquisition this January) and Wenger said all along that the end of the window was when movement would take place.
Just because nobody was signed (or nobody big was signed) doesn't mean nothing happened, nothing was tried, and nothing is being planned. I understand your frustration, Sri, and I too feel that a good forward signing was something we really should have gone for in this window. But cool heads are best. I just think that (a) this January was a bad time to get the kinds of players we needed in attack, and (b) we shouldn't let our very valid disappointment in results retroject a fictional account what Arsenal "tried" or how the totally lacked strategy. I think that just contributes to the toxis up-and-down manic depressive attitude around the club's fans.
Anyway. Kim Källström, if this loan becomes official, does have one indisputably good quality: he brings more umlauts to the roster.

You think THIS was a rant?

This was like a 2 minute trailer to a 3 hour movie. I had to elucidate that my frustration isn't driven by Draxler, Vucinic or any big name signing (or lack of it thereof).
