He actually can't, Konoplyanka's contract will only have 1 year in the summer and he will be cheaper. We're only paying this because we know more teams will be in for him in the summer and we don't go into a bidding war.

So let's recap the most significant deals of the window so far, I guess the only one that could add to this is the Ukrainian:

Nitroglue to Fulham, £11m
Berbatov to Monaco on loan, now who saw that coming...
Källström to Arsenal on loan to fight that bench place out with Arteta.
Osvaldo to Juventus, gg Southampton with your record signing.
Crystal Palace have secured a few deals.
Holtby on loan to Fulham.
Zouma to Chelsea (but stays at St Etienne).

Lots of deals in lower divisions, but a pretty dull deadline day in the end.
