Don't like Sturridge being forced into a beta role though. He's been outstanding this season yet there is a common misconception right now of Liverpool being a one man team. I mean he's hardly ever mentioned unless it's related to some boring jibe about Chelsea, being compared with Welbeck or being grouped together with Suarez with that cringey "SAS" moniker. He's a star in his own right people.

Correct me if I'm wrong but despite Sturridge having 10 goals this season he's yet to score more than 1 goal in a single game so far this season. Am I correct?

That statistic is almost as impressive as Suarez's insane goal record this season. Absolutely no stat padding there.

They probably would have beat Everton, Hull and City if he was fit.

Even across Europe this is very rare (top 7 leagues). Since 1980 only Hulk/Falcao for Porto in 2010-11, Grafite/Dzeko for Wolfsburg in 2008-09, DelPiero/Trezeguet for Juve in 2007-08, Kuyt/Kalou for Feyenoord in 2004-05, Bobic/Elber for Stuttgart in 1995-1996, Maradona/Careca for Napoli in 1987-88, and Hugo Sanchez/Valdano for Madrid in 1985-86 have done it.

PS. Also Ibra and Cavani will probably do it as well.

On record to break the Liverpool record under Shankly:

If Suarez and Sturridge maintain their sky-high standards until May they could even break the tally of 52 league goals the cherished duo of Roger Hunt (31) and Ian St John (21) plundered under Bill Shankly in 1963/64.

6 goals in 8 games to break it.

And this is the current English record (well in the PL).

Also the record partnership goal scoring tally in the Premier League is held by Newcastle's Andy Cole (34) and Peter Beardsley (21) at 55 goals.

EDIT: This might even be in a 42 game campaign. [unconfirmed]

The highest PL goal tally ever is 34 goals by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer in 42 game seasons.

Has a good chance to break those as well.

Suarez and Daniel Sturridge have scored more league goals than Sunderland and Crystal Palace put together.

Suarez, Sturridge, and Steven Gerrard have scored just five league goals less than the entire Chelsea side have managed this season (in the league).
