Re: Patrick Bamford
Got his first start, unfortunately he didn't get any chances to score.

Re: Patrick Bamford
CPFC's assistant manager has said that Bamford had to adapt to the pace of the premier league and was then carrying a minor knee injury, as to the reason why Bamford has barely featured.
He didn't really say if it would change or not.

Re: Patrick Bamford
He also says Shitdew likes to play a striker who can run in behind, which isn't Paddys game.

Re: Patrick Bamford
There are rumours circulating that Guus wants to try Bamford out for the rest of the season.
Since Remy might be Leaving and Falcao is injured and rubbish.
I wouldn't be against it, as long as he actually plays.

Lad who couldn't hack it at a side we just caned 3-0. Def sounds like the kind of player we want being our only back-up/alternative up front.

We may as well give him a shot, and if it doesn't work out, we can buy someone else come June.

And when he scuppers our chances of winning the Champions League?

You think he'd miss a chance that Flopcao wouldn't?

Re: Patrick Bamford
That's precisely my point. 1 injury-prone busted flush and 1 green behind the ears newbie isn't sufficient.

Re: Patrick Bamford
And if Remy stays? We'll simply replace Flopcao with Bamford, which is what I wanted from the start.
I honestly hope we sign Berahino to replace Remy, and only replace Flopcao with Bamford.

Re: Patrick Bamford
I thought we were debating the possibility of replacing Remy with Bamford.
Falcao, obviously yea. Hell, I'd switch the tea lady's cat with Falcack.

Re: Patrick Bamford
But they're 2 different scenarios. One of them leaves us with a somewhat competent senior striker and a youth one, and the other leaves us with a completely useless senior striker and a youth one. Big difference.

Fair point.
Let's hope Remy doesn't leave, then.

A recap on Bamford's downward trend from one of the hottest prospects in England to, well, now. Thoughts?
I personally haven't lost all hope on him yet.
It's clear that no PL teams is willing to give him a first team spot/he's not good enough ATM, and he desperately needs to go back to playing week after week.
I want him to get on a Championship side, getting his confidence and reputation back, and, if he performs well, a loan to a PL side (in an ideal scenario, the Championship team he carried to the promotion).

Re: Patrick Bamford
Crazy how he went from being one of the top young players in the championship to spending two seasons riding the bench in the PL

His time has passed, sadly.
Traore and Abraham are ahead of him and Bats is younger than him, too.

Agree with Kicky. His window has long since opened and shut. Should have taken that spot at Harvard...

Re: Patrick Bamford
Who is the last young Chelsea player who made it ? I can't remember a single one.
What kind of contract do they have ? I mean Bambord is going on loan for the 7th time now . at this rate better let him go no ? Or does he have such a lenghty contract ?

Re: Patrick Bamford
We should give up on Bamford's future on our club, but if we sell him now we'll sell him for pennies. From a business perspective we should try to loan him at a Championship side so that he can regain his reputation back and we could get a profitable sale.
And things will change with Antonio IMO. The fact that he gave one of the least impressive loanies of the last couple of years in Moses (to a certain extent Chalobah too) so much exposure is reassuring and a good sign.
At least one of Christensen and Akè are very likely to be integrated in the first team to replace aging defenders like JT and Iva. We have a bunchful of others very promising youngsters that are on loan and performing well.

Re: Patrick Bamford
I was at the city vs burnley game yesterday to see his brief cameo, in which he didn't really get much of a chance to do anything.
What really shocked me was that he was easily the tallest player out there, he even had a few inches on yaya toure (who is gigantic)
