Re: Destiny
Question
Is there a significant single player portion? I ask because I'll be getting a lot later than everyone else and if everyone has stopped playing the multiplayer then I'd need a reason to buy it.

Halo and COD people from the past made it didn't they? Pretty much automatically guarantees well over 50k players for years tbh

Re: Destiny
Game Modes in Destiny
Crucible
This is where competitive PvP (Player versus Player) combat takes place. Although PvP might not be appealing to everyone, you can still level up and earn loot rewards here, making it a great way to level up if quests aren't cutting it anymore.
Explore
Explore mode allows you to traverse a section of the map, free of any quests. Here, you can explore at your own pace, finding secret alcoves and items, and complete mini quests, activated by interacting with small, blinking beacons.
Story
While in story mode, you will complete missions and other quests in a specific order, slowly uncovering the secrets of the Destiny world along the way.
Strike
A Strike is a cooperative game mode available in Destiny.[1][2] A Strike is a structured, progressive, cooperative adventure "ideal for pick-up groups or friends looking for a quick battle together."[1] Strikes are replayable, designed for three-person Fireteams, and usually take 15-30 minutes to complete.[3][4]
Strikes always begin in a public area, so the Fireteam can begin participating in public events, encounter other Fireteams, or explore.[3] When the Fireteam enters the "Strike proper," it becomes private, and the Fireteam will no longer encounter other players.[3] At that point, players go through a structured, crafted mission that culminates in one or more boss battles.[3]
Faction Wars
Faction Wars is a game mode available on the main menu of Destiny.[1] Faction Wars was very briefly previewed in the Pathways Out of Darkness ViDoc with no mention since, thus very little is known about this game mode. Speculation suggests that the Faction Wars game mode offers players the ability to challenge other factions in a multiplayer competitive setting.

Yeah but watched all those films in that 'universe' and got hyped through that for years even as a kid
I don't strongly dislike futuristic games or anything I just prefer settings in a more relate-able era if that makes sense.
Liked Halo 3 multi whenever I played it but I can't bring myself to play halo stories I lose interest with the setting even though the game itself is legit.

Agreed tbh
Only liked Halo 2 out of the Halo series. I am not a fan of futuristic games either and this is my first proper one. That's why I am hoping I like it.

I really like futuristic shooters as it goes, much prefer it to the ultra realistic military shooter anyway.

It plays like Halo and looks like Halo. I will play it, it may even surprise me and hook me, I just don't think I'll have the time to keep up with people. I hope there isn't a level range requirement for co-op.

Re: Destiny
One reason i'm looking forward to next gen is because I got fed up of games in the WW2 era as it was done to death from ps1 all the way through. Medal of honours were great I completed all of them
But there's potential for it to be fresh in the next gen imo and should be good.

Re: Destiny
Yeah meant to say, is there a big potential gap in terms of levelling up for equipment and all that
I.E if you're twice as high ranked as somebody, does the high rank give you tools to make an unfair fight even worse I.E better armour and significantly better guns?
Or is it like COD where as soon as you unlock a respectable gun you're sorted minus the odd OP perk

Re: Destiny
Worrying
I'll play it enough, but by the time I have it I imagine 80% of the players in the lobby will rape me even if they have no skill.

Re: Destiny
I dunno. I just meant that like traditional RPG's/MMO's the higher level you are the better equipment you can unlock and wear

Good thing about it is the free roam part, I don't play enough anymore to keep up with those who play all day erry day.
But the free roam part means I can go at my own pace and complete missions with people.
It's one of the reasons I like GTA, I.can go away for months and then drop straight back in at my leisure.

Re: Destiny
Ya, if quests are good and fun and there's plenty of them in the story mode type thing then that's good
Hope quests aren't a half-assed addition for people who cba playing PVP
I.E walk to X place, kill infinite spawns of people then drive to Y place and spend 5 minutes loading the lobby again
Hope they have depth to them
