The funny thing is the Exotic upgrading fiasco isn't the worst part, the faction commendations needed to buy the new legendary gear(read:non-raid and non-exotic gear) is the real bullshit.

You gotta constantly grind that Crucible and Vanguard rep if you want to buy stuff from the vendors now, unlike there being a set reputation you needed to have to buy stuff like there used to be. New players to Destiny are royally screwed.

Why are they making it so complicated.

What is the logic behind this from Bungie's end?

From what I have read, they want to make it more like other MMOs because that's what happens in other games I think.

It's their way of making it more challenging too.

It makes it easier to change the weapons' information and code by providing a direct replacement rather than actual alterations. AND it gives players continued targets to work toward.

That would make sense, if Bungie hadn't already done exactly that less than a week ago! On monday with the exotic weapon patch, Bungie changed the information and code of most exotic weapons by altering perks(RIP Suros), changing their stats, removing the ascendant materials requirement on exotics and replacing it with exotic shards, increasing the base rating of exotics from 260 to 274 and increasing the maximum attack rating of the Vex Mythoclast from 300 to 323.

All these changes took effect without anyone having to re level their exotics, it was a painless transition. Why they couldn't just increase the attack rating for the other exotics like they did for the Mythclast is beyond me, they can clearly do it if they bothered.

This is nothing to do with giving players "continued targets" for players to work towards, we're being given a repetition of our already completed task and are going to be upgrading the exact same gear we've already upgraded before, all in order for Bungie to artificially extend the life of the game in hopes of trapping people until the next expansion.

Thankfully players are seeing through the BS.

Different audience tbf, Witcher goes after the Skyrim audience so i don't think it affects each other sales wise.

Shame they cut all this content from the game into DLC :S

The game could have lasted much longer imo. Oh well. Enjoyed the 2 months it was out and gave me a earlier reason to buy a PS4.

I really enjoyed it as well, but with all the new games coming out at end of the year and beginning of this year it was always going to happen.

I hope Destiny 2 is more of a game without the repeated-ness and less reliant on DLC. Make it a Halo 3 and it will be an instant hit.

I still suspect that the claims of all Destiny's DLC being in the game originally and simply cut are notably simplistic and wide of the mark. I think there's more to it than that by far.


Trials of Osiris PvP confirmed for coming with the HoW update, as well as a new arena mode, social area, and other additions. 1.1.2 update drops tomorrow as well with increased vault space and a couple of new features.

Bungie doing their damnedest to tempt me back into PvP with the ToO gear...

I rather doubt they'll introduce any completely new destinations for this expansion. More than likely you'll have to wait for the major expansion in late summer/early Autumn for anything like that.
