Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
Tottenham seems to be getting by on individual quality against Southampton. Tim Sherwood's setup is really making the case for hiring outside the current ranks at White Hart Lane.
Starting with 2 AMs playing at CM, an inverted winger, another AM playing wide on the left, and two rather static strikers, Sherwood barely looks like he knows what he's doing when setting up a team. Perhaps I am underrating his tactical acumen, but prevalent tactic appears to be:
"This lad looks quality. Let's get him on the pitch."
Spurs are currently lucky that Adebayor is looking dangerous, and Southampton's defense is hemorrhaging goals.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
Goals for both teams from defensive mistakes in the Southampton - Tottenhampton match, the hosts just made more of those errors. I agree with DontTreadyReddy that Tot'ham's XI was rather odd, but they still played better than Soton.
Ps. Got a feeling Swansea v Everton is going to a nil - nil borefest and won't be watching

Southampton are in freefall atm. Adebayor playing for a new contract? He only ever puts in an effort when it's for a personal gain.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
yes the Saints are in freefall
regardless of the result they have played bad, nothing to do with the solid team that we've seen in the first half of the season

Damn.
Anyone this season could finish either first or eighth the way things are going lol. l love it so much.. Even Newcastle is a title contender at this point. They are only six points out of first and the season is almost half way over!

*bleep* me, this Barkley kid is going to be one hell of a player, if he isn't ruined by a premature transfer...

No!!!!!
You are over your head if you think Newcastle, Everton, Spurs, or United have any sort of shot at the title this season.
The 3 favorites are City, Arsenal, and Chelsea with Liverpool with an outside shot and that's it.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
I know lol. I don't expect them to win it but the fact that them and Everton and others are playing meaningful games and are from atleast a mathematical standpoint, within reasonable striking distance of first is pretty cool. my point was that normally, at this point of the season there is a gap of about six points between first and second not first and 6th or 7th etc. It's just fun to see how close it is now

If you lot have an outside, then why not Everton? Only one loss so far and are only 2 points behind Liverpool.
And Chelsea shouldn't be included. They are nothing special and will certainly not win the league. The title will be won by City imo.

Swans looked like shit again
De Guzman is playing too deep, and frankly I don't think Shelvey fits with Swansea at all
Swansea desperately needs better wide players, Hernandez and Routledge were terrible today and they've been weak at that position all year...now with Dyer out its really bad

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
It happens to be a draw between arsenal and chelsea tomorrow, the top 4 will be with points as 36, 36, 35, 34.... and that too chelsea at 4th with only 1 GD better than everton.
I think at the end of the season, top 4 and the title both will be decided by GD

I would like to pile on Arsenal, because well it's fun. However, in talking with RG in chat today I reviewed their schedule and it's built for them to win the league but fail in Europe. It really is their title to lose, so we'll see if they have the mental fortitude to pull it off, but everything is in their corner to do so.
