City defense was as worse as Arsenal's...but City's attack this game was superb..they won the midfield battle with out any battle.
Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
A Tony Pulis-managed Stoke City side would have had better passing than us today. Some of our passes made no sense at all - the one which led to us giving away a penalty was just disgusting; even if no City player was there, no Arsenal player was anywhere near the giant gap of space that the ball was played into right in front of our goal.
We just totally shit the bed, and when the going got tough, the boys screwed up even harder. Completely overran and lacking any tactical ability today.

City on course to win every home game in this season's Premiership?
They've already beaten United, Tottenham, Everton, (Newcastle) and now Arsenal there.

Saw this coming.
It could have been lot worse in fact. Ars scored their last two goals only when citeh decided to switch off and defend which is strange considering its their home game.
Wow they were actually showing the leaders respect.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
Of course City showed they were above an Arsenal that looked like it has started to run out of gas. But you don't win the league by beating the big boys. You win the league by beating shittier opponents.
Touré was superb at times and stupidly clumsy at other times, typical of his performances throughout the years I've been watching him.
Nasri played very well in my opinion, I'm glad the real Nasri is back and I hope to see more of him. Walcott was excellent with his finishing and moves and Giroud ran out of gas by 75th minute. A couple of awful misses by the Frenchman too.
Oh, and Wilshere was awful today. What's happened to England's so called brightest young star?

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
We as a team were terrible today. As stupid as it sounds, since they've just put six past us, City weren't that brilliant going forward, but rather they were just very clinical when we gave them opportunities due to unforced errors. Koscielny switching off completely for Aguero's goal, Wilshere not tracking Zabaleta's run for Negredo's, us giving the ball away in our third for Fernandinho's, etc. City were open at the back, too, and we missed some great chances to level up the game. Also, whisper it quietly, some of the officiating from the linesman wasn't particularly good, either.
Nonetheless, horrible day for us, great day for City. It's looking like December will be our worst month but on the bright side, there's still five months after that to play so it's not like things are decided now.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
Monreal and Wilshere were both useless and were both playing on the same side. It's no surprise that most of City's attacks came from attacking those two and exposing them.
Tbf, despite playing like crap, we should have had a penalty and Giroud had an onside goal wrongly disallowed. We never would have made the substitutions which buried us tactically if we weren't losing by 2 goals when it was 4-2. But yeah, we didn't deserve a god damned thing today.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
Manchester City is only -3 despite its yield Away and despite they play without GK
Zabaleta is the most underrated City player imo
anyway Arsenal very very tired , it is understandable
they played on Sunday against Everton, on Wednesday against Napoli and today against City ... three hard matches, and the next against Chelsea...

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
Zabaleta "handball" wasn't a penalty. It is a handball if the player intentionally touches the ball with his hand or the player's hand is in an unnatural position. None of that can be said about the Argentine gladiator.
Giroud's "goal" was wrongly called offside, but it was not a goal as all Manchester City players had stopped seconds before he took his shot
Monreal was called offside in the first half and he definitely wasn't.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
I don't think City were as good as that score line suggests. In fact, their defence were just as shit as Arsenal's. The only difference was the fact they have far better attackers. If Arsenal had an Aguero, they would have drew that match 6-6 lol.
They also should have got a penalty for a hand ball and a horrible offside decision against Bendtner. That linesman at the away end and Atkinson are awful, the latter being by far the worst ref in the league.
What amuses me most is how a formidable Arsenal defence, up until today, collapsed. Wilshere was awful, Ramsey couldn't get into the game, Ozil was non existent despite 2 assists(didn't get involved much). Walcott did well 2 score the goals, 2nd one was brilliant.
City- I just don't understand how a team can be so great at home but shit away from home. They carry that form away from home and they will blitz the league. Thankfully they can;t seem to.
Fantastic game to watch.

Oh and no one should write Arsenal off just yet. If they manage to get results against the big teams at home and beat the lesser teams of the league, they will still be in contention to win the title.
A recipe that SAF and United have benefited from for years and years.

Re: Barclay's Premier League discussion '13-'14 V4
Zabaleta didn't try to touch it with his arm, but if it didn't hit the arm by his side, it would have gone off of his knee and towards Theo who was onside beyond the back line and would have had a chance. The use of the arm stopped a chance. Anyway, the only reason we are identifying these moments is because there were so few moments for Arsenal; we were all at sea today. Thankfully we have 9 days before our next game

Definitely 100%.. I think the fact that we weren't clinical just took the will out of the defense and midfield. City gave every possible window to bring things level, but our attack bottled so many of the chances so badly that it felt hopeless. City know they can score at any second where as this team knows they need to make every goal count because Walcott is one of our only reliable forwards and he can't do it alone

Hell no. Our defence was definitely better today. Kompany snuffed out so much and had a great game.RED wrote:I don't think City were as good as that score line suggests. A team like Arsenal will always get chances. Especially when City are lining up in a 442.
Don't say if Arsenal had an Aguero they would have drawn 6-6. First of all that's a fallible statement and one of pure baseless conjecture. Not only that but even despite my unfavoured 442 giving Arsenal a lot of space to work with, they likes of Kompany, Fernandinho, and Zabaleta defended like the gladiators they are and made it so that Arsenal would have to be absolutely perfect to execute their intents.
Arsenal's chances were not low percentage ones that needed a world-class striker to bury.
I think Giroud was tired and that affected his concentration.

Kompany was great, that's it.
Take into account the non offside decisions, and the chances the fell to Giroud(who was crap). Give them a top class striker and they would have got something out that game.

You couldn't pay me to watch West Ham. They will def get relegated, can't score to save their lives. How did Spurs lose to these scrubs 0-3 at WHL? Since then, all their matches are either them getting beat without them scoring or 0-0s.

Does Ozil even care about Arsenal?
He doesnt give a shit about the fans. Even if you lose the match so badly first thing you do is acknowledge the fans who sat through those 90 minutes of you playing shite.
Mertesacker is my new Arsenal favorite. What a leader.

I'm so f*cking angry right now.
Southampton were shit and get a goal due to Santon being a moron and we throw a game away which we should have won comfortably.
Remy Missed two easy chances.... one was cleared off the line and another was a horribly missed 1 on 1
Unless we win the next two games i will not get over this game for a long long time.
Absolute joke so f*cking annoyed.

Ozil has always been a subdued person when it comes to post match interviews, interaction with the fans etc. even when his team has been victorious.

I know them feels. 1-1 at OT saints score in the 86th min- scrappy set piece goal.
BUT....I'm pleased with this result. Gives Utd a chance to close the gap up the table....if we win.
