Re: The FA Cup Thread
We've drawn the winner of MK Dons v Northampton Town away for the 4th Round.

Re: The FA Cup Thread
Let's not get too presumptuous about it. This side has never been averse to losing to opponents it should be beating easily.

Guus is putting a lot of energy into the FA cup, by the looks. I doubt we'll take it lightly, and I doubt we'll put in a poor performance.

I'd love to win it again, it's been too long since we have.

Especially considering our history in it in the last 20 or so years.

Re: The FA Cup Thread
Exactly.
Plus, if we fail to get anywhere near European spots in the league, winning the FA cup will send us into the Europa League, which is better than nothing.

We've been steadily improving and by then we should really be in form. I hope...

Well, Costa and Cesc are back in form, so if we can get Hazard back to his norm by then, we should be good.

Re: The FA Cup Thread
If we beat Everton, the only team who could beat us on our day is Man Utd, So things are looking good for us, imo.

Re: The FA Cup Thread
The semifinal next weekend is now crucial to keeping our league campaign on life support. Spurs are already in the ascendency and smelling blood, and a victory for them there would boost that confidence tenfold while sending our own choking players even farther into their testicle-free shells approaching the final 6 games.

Ah Shed, optimistic as ever
Just have this feeling that it will be the game we will finally show up again. And plus, I highly doubt Spurs will be able to win ALL of their remaining games

Re: The FA Cup Thread
One of the most shithouse wins I've seen by us in ages We barely had even a single sniff at goal from open play for the first 60 or 70 minutes. Which only makes the win all the more gratifying. Spurs had the overwhelming majority of the possession but our experience and resilience shined through. As soon as the changes were made they surely proved the difference and we were a much more competent side from then on and did what needed to be done to get the victory.
Basically, for Spurs this game couldn't have come at a better time for them and a worse time for us.......and they still manage to get dicked xD A massive victory for us on the pitch but also psychologically, going into the final stretch in the league. Tottenham's status as dependable bottlers regardless how good they appear to be doing reaffirmed and trophy-allergic Pochettino once again shown up as the pretender he is.
For us, our first FA Cup final in 5 years and still well in contention for the Double. Super afternoon

Re: The FA Cup Thread
Holy crap what a match!
Yeah it was disheartening to see us staying back and defending when we should have been leading the attack in the game. Fantastic goals from both sides tbh. Instant classic!
