A win for United. Feels good to say that again.

Impressive win for City too. Not bad.

Today Manchester City showed Europe what we're about.

It was obvious the catalyst for Bayern's victory at the Etihad was Pellegrini's wrong choice of formation (442), which gave Bayern more numbers in midfield.

This time we put out a midfield 5 vs. a midfield 5 and dominated Bayern for large parts of the game.

Bayern put out a very nearly full strength lineup but for Robben. Martinez was an early 2nd half sub.

City put out a B team:
No Kompany
No Aguero
No Yaya Toure
No Nasri
No Negredo (75 sub')

Bayern were outfought, outplayed, even though Manchester City used positive tactics. If you didn't watch the game, City's victory was no park the bus and counter attack fluke.

This 3-2 victory feels nice but we were close to getting a 4-2 victory to top the group and that takes some of the gloss off the win. Good game for the neutral, very end to end at times.

Bayern are overrated. They looked so slick last time in Manchester only for the aforementioned reason, and goalkeeping errors.

If that's what we can do to a strong Bayern team with mainly our reserves, a beautiful sign of things to come from Manchester City.

Pressure got to Bayer sadly, City was easily the better team in 2nd half. They got no problem with defending since Bayer had no penetration, directness. Milner of all people schooled Bayer midfield a good one tonight. The 2nd half reminded me of frustrated Barcelona under Pep back then against park the bus team and City didn't even park the bus, they just out muscled the shit out of Bayer players.

Pelle first victory against Pep. This isn't that surprising seeing BM in the last three years lost to Chelsea, Arsenal and now City at home.

Dante and Boateng made a lot of clumsy decision and didn't all three goals go in pretty much from their mistakes?

WOW. MP's interview suggests he didn't realise City only needed one more to win the group. May have sent Aguero on otherwise.

Pellegrini: "I was tempted [to send Aguero on] if we scored a fourth goal."

Did no one tell him...? What the FFFFF

City to play either Madrid, Atletico, Barca, or PSG in the first round Laughing

An extra goal could've prevented that. ffs.

Moyes proving the haters wrong with this CL run. I still think he's an inept *bleep* at times, but Shakthar were dominating in the first half, different story straight out of the gate in the 2nd after he got his hands on the lads at HT.

Undefeated in a tough group. 12 goals for, 3 against. Hammered the second best team in Germany. Very Impressive.

No. He said: "Of course I was tempted... if we score the fourth goal.. that's why I sent Aguero to warm up."
But then he said it was bad to let Silva continue.

You honestly believe he wouldn't know the away rule? Please.

Yes Dante had a shocking night. Boateng was great but clumsy/unlucky with the 3rd goal.

If you ask me, perfect timing for a defeat.

We needed to be reminded what happens when we get complacent, and this 2:0 up after 12 min and losing 2:3 illustrated that pretty well.

I thought the first bit could be taken both ways but when he says we still needed two goals it's clear he has miscalculated.

I wonder if the players knew!

Lahm wasn't good either today, Thiago misplaced a lot of passes, and he hasn't git that steel yet.
Ribery ran around overmotivated for 20min, and then managed to lose practically every ball after that.

Still, typical for us to lose that game today.
Think Borisov/Arsenal.

Thiago frustrated the hell out of Barca coaches going for the jugular and trying fancy stuff every time, giving balls away in dangerous positions and Pep puts him as a single defensive pivot just to piss the Barca board off. lmao
