What if England loses again against Germany?
It'll be a complete meltdown in the England camp and in the English press.

Re: What if England loses again against Germany?
Thats nothing new. They will most likely lose to Germany, but again I can see them defending like no tomorrow and perhaps getting a draw, or possible win.

Nah, it's only a friendly, so doesn't matter if England win or lose. Realistically England know deep down they aren't one of the favourites for the WC.

Outsider's mentality is the best thing that could happen to England. A bit like France in 2006 when everyone were saying their were old and all.Yohan Modric wrote:Nah, it's only a friendly, so doesn't matter if England win or lose. Plus Jogi Löw threatened to experiment even more (Lahm, Neuer and Özil are already on their way home).Toffer Harley wrote:doesn't matter - it's a friendly.

Re: What if England loses again against Germany?
If England loses: Trying out youngsters, far from the first team, means nothing.Lex wrote:If England loses = "LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL ENGLAND SUCK!!! HODGSON OUT!!! LOLOL

If England wins: Playing our B team and still knocking off the big guns, this team doesn't get enough credit and can beat anyone.
Cuts both ways for supporters and detractors alike.
On topic, the result is far less important in such a game as the performance and experience gained by the players and the lessons learnt by the respective managers. I'm not going to make any predictions without seeing the line-ups however I see no reason why England can't put in a very respectable performance and get a result. They've proven their ability to organise themselves very effectively in defence and are a distinct threat on the counter-attack, however given the desire to experiment it would be no reflection on the team's capabilities should they fall to a respectable loss.

It was to be expected.
England are going through that period that Arsenal are hopefully coming to the end of.

England didn't do too bad. Germany overall were the better team, however England's pressing and possession is improving.

Re: What if England loses again against Germany?
they scored on a header right after a corner, not to worried about it tbh at least they didn't get played off the field like they did in 2010

Jogi:"England played a good game and were dominant in the 1st half yet we took our chances"
Hodgson:"It was an absolute miracle that he didn't lose by more than 5 goals. I am very satisfied with the result"

Germany didn't have some of their star players who would have troubled them for that, though.Yohan Modric wrote:England didn't do too bad. Germany overall were the better team, however England's pressing and possession is improving.

Re: What if England loses again against Germany?
Neither did England. Both teams were experimenting and giving non-regular players a chance.

Re: What if England loses again against Germany?
Of course it matters. It's not caring that has seen England drop ranking points and find themselves in pot 2 for the World Cup draw.Yohan Modric wrote:Nah, it's only a friendly, so doesn't matter if England win or lose. Re: What if England loses again against Germany?
Not having that. You can bet that Hart, Cole, Jagielka, Walker, Gerrard, Rooney, Townsend & Sturridge will all be starting Englands 1st WC game next year.RealGunner wrote:Neither did England. Both teams were experimenting and giving non-regular players a chance.
Cant say the same for Germany, that was a B team.

Yeah, even if it's still a friendly it does matter if you win or lose. Especially for morale which is what England desperately needs ahead of the WC.The_Badger wrote:Of course it matters. Exactly. It's crushing to lose at home to a foe like Germany.El Chelsea Fuerte wrote:Yeah, even if it's still a friendly it does matter if you win or lose. Re: What if England loses again against Germany?
England's biggest problem right now is defence, they don't have a #1 pairing at CB like they did with Ferdinand Terry for so many years

Re: What if England loses again against Germany?
I suspect Roy sees Jagielka and Cahill as the first choice CB pairing, not exactly inspiring, but when the best England CB at the moment doesn't want anything to do with the national side and the next best is probably Curtis Davies; what options does he have?

Rather have Zat Knight than Cahill, at least he's tall
