Jürgen Klopp signed a contract extension until 2018!

Bad news for all the teams who thought they could tempt Jürgen Klopp to desert Borussia Dortmund in the near future - he just signed a contract extension until 2018!

Release clause? I severely doubt that.

Good for him.

Good to see a coach in a good situation who is doing great things and is happy with his work so he sticks to it. Even if there are supposedly greater things out there for him.

I wish AVB had this opinion after 1 season at Porto.

Well, Jürgen Klopp just loves his work at Dortmund if you believe all of his interviews - and obviously he's not only in it for the money as he'd certainly get way more money with other clubs than with Dortmund. On the other hand, Dortmund both give him the trust and the time to build something really great, which very likely is worth more than just numbers on the paycheck.

Great news for Dortmund . What he has been doing there all these years is nothing sort of extraordinary and simply a joy to witness . Much respect to Klopp , both as a coach and as a man.

As usual, I don't really take contracts seriously. Signing a 5 year contract just shows the commitment at this point now.

Next year or the year after he could easily leave.

On the other hand, Klopp stayed 7 years with Mainz until his contract was fulfilled even though he had Bundesliga offers while Mainz were still in the 2nd BL. Some people obviously do honour contracts.

Hooray for him and Dortmund, i hope he got a big payrise, i respect him a hell of alot.

However, please remember that besides maybe Lionel Messi, nobody in football is forever bound to a place, not Bilbao players, not coaches, not anybody.

This just means that assuming Klopp would want to leave, say next year, the other team will now have to shell out more cash for him than before. Not that i want Klopp gone for Dortmund anyways.
