I think he bought him because Abramovich insisted because Torres was a favourite of his and Drogba was facing malaria and it wasn't sure if he was going to survive, let alone returning to play football, and he just accepted. Im sure he regrets it now. Oh well, his career has been magnificent since he left us, but signing Torres must be one of the things he regrets the most about his spell here.
