Re: Steven Gerrard
No, it's very clear there's not much of a future for Liverpool in the next 2 years, so it's probably in the players and clubs interest everyone moves on.
He's literally talked highly of every manager he's played for, do you really think he's going to say anything bad about the manager? Do you know how much pressure he'd put on the manager if he was to do that?
Benitez was probably the best manager he's ever had, in terms of silverware, in terms of developing, in terms of growing as a person too. Management above him was average though, and then it just went to horrible under G+H. So yeah, quite confident he's talking about the bigger picture.

Hopefully that ends all the bullshit about the club not wanting to keep him, Gerrard doesn't want to be bench player, don't find reasons to just start hating on BR or FSG.

Re: Steven Gerrard
Way I see it, the the truth won't come out until his retired.
He's only been rested in like 2 games all season, he's pretty much played every game. I'm quite certain Henderson and Sterling are the only two that rival him in terms of most minutes played.
So I can't buy this whole "I'm leaving because I want to play every game". Not when A) even during this "talk" he's still played a lot of football and B) he'd never put himself in a position where he's higher than the club. If it was for Liverpool's (and not his own) best interest he'd stay and accept "less" game time. Note: I highly doubt he's leaving for money either. But yeah, I wonder what's going to be said in his autobiography/after his officially done with football as a player.

It was awkward for like three years seeing Torres in blue.

Galaxy are as good a choice as any. Plus I'd assume that being a millionaire in Los Angeles beats being a millionaire in Liverpool, so I hope he'll have a good time on and off the pitch.

The trend i believe under FSG will be North America then Asia and repeat, so maybe LA galaxy will be a constant opponent now over the years.

Re: Steven Gerrard
Rodgers stole Gerrard's bed.
No but honestly I don't have an opinion one way or another.
I'd just like to hear his real thoughts / comments when Rodgers isn't at Liverpool anymore.

Re: Steven Gerrard
these things are always interesting about players talking about manager. In this case, I would love to hear from SG about which was the manager he respected most, played enjoying most with and .. ..
But sometimes even after 10-20 years players come out and talk the truth or build the truth to suit the situation at that time we will wait !

I, too, would be very interested in hearing Gerrard's honest thoughts on Rodgers. But I doubt Gerrard is going to go there any time soon. We probably have to wait for years.

Honestly can't see how he would have too much negative comments about him, if he blames Rodgers for his LFC exit i will LOL.

Re: Steven Gerrard
Not for his exit, that would be a little daft, but he might have a thing or two to say about Rodgers tactics and team selections. Personally I believe Gerrard himself doesn't think he should be playing attacking midfielder any more - yet that's what Rodgers has turned to in his despair this season.

Re: Steven Gerrard
Gerrard has a history of feuding with managers though, so would it really surprise anyone for him to say something negative? I dunno, I love Stevie but sometimes I feel like he really does feel he is Liverpool, and puts himself above the manager. That is completely aside from the clip of him being substituted, which is just an awkward high-five and pat on the chest nothing more in it really.
He seemed quite candid about Rodgers in that interview where he believed that if Rodgers had been here longer they could have won a lot of titles together. Suarez who had no reason to be nice about Rodgers had nothing but good things to say about him after leaving. It honestly feels like you guys are looking for something, anything to pin on Rodgers these days.

Re: Steven Gerrard
The comments Gerrard made about wishing to have played under Rodgers for multiple years was right at the end of last season when we were about win the title. His opinion has changed greatly now that he's realized Suarez carried us to that challenge.
I bet you if Gerrard had his say, Brenda wouldn't be at Liverpool.

Actually they were made this season after he announced his decision to leave Liverpool you 'pleb'. We were already playing poorly, Suarez was already gone, and Gerrard was being given a reduced role. I don't think he's as fickle as you are.

Re: Steven Gerrard
and where did Gerrard anywhere hint about it . Gerrard just knows there is nothing he could do and I am sure his comments from recent interviews suggest that he has been critical about FSG more than Rodgers because either we missed out on players or we did not/could not spend/negotiate he knows we missed out on a striker

Re: Steven Gerrard
Gerrard is a winner.
He's of course pissed that Rodgers subbed him off with 10 minutes to go in a MUST-WIN game just so that he can get a "acclaim from Chelsea fans" , the fans that Gerrard hates the most.
Must-win game, even game, 10 minutes to go...you take off your top scorer, dead ball specialist, and our most likely goal threat, for an awful sentimental reason like that ? No wonder he ignored Rodgers' high five and at the end of the match was giving him the angry eye when BR and Mourinho were chatting.
Gerrard cares about winning. I am not sure we can say the same thing about the man in the dug-out.
