I dont do these stupid jinx nonesense, but I am genuinely a little concerned by Muntari in games like this.
It would be just storybook for him to put on a great defensive performance in midfield, foul when needed, win a corner out of nothing resulting in a goal or heck, even score himself.

Italian teams always have that one player who just puts in a clinic in big games and plays above his level. I could totally see Muntari having a big game. The Franchise wrote:I dont do these stupid jinx nonesense, but I am genuinely a little concerned by Muntari in games like this.

The key word here is team. They don't need individual quality if they can function very well as a team. Dortmund as a team is a greater than the sum of its parts, and I think that is their biggest strength.Zealous wrote:I was butthurt at the time sure but I see it all clearly now. Sticking by my assessment. Arsenal will have too much for them and Napoli might snatch 2nd place from them.
However, I think they are stronger in knock out matches, and thus I predict Napoli to actually manage to steal that second spot (if they win tonight).

Re: UEFA Champions League 2013-14 Matchday 3
Indeed. De Jong and Montolivo are 2 players who for me are quality in their positions and can put on a good performance and I wouldnt be the least bit surprised. If Muntari makes that 3, thats means already the midfield will be difficult and that makes or breaks how you do vs us. How your midfield competes by saving the defence from getting drawn out of position and then springing counter attacks.Zealous wrote:Italian teams always have that one player who just puts in a clinic in big games and plays above his level. Obviously, I wouldnt care about any of this stuff if we had blown away a non La Liga big team in recent memory, like we used to.

Very boring game, both sides were happy with a draw from the beginning. Muntari should have been send off (second yellow on that tackle from behind on Messi), weak offensive play by us, great defending by Milan.

Shouldn't have lost to Dortmund. Lewandowski should have been long sent off. Terrible referee

Well I was a bit off with the scores, but apart from Milan - Barca and Zenit -Porto, I managed to successfully predict the winnersCasciavit wrote:AC Milan 1-3 Barcelona

Very, very unlucky. We had last season's CL finalists on the ropes for a long time and were undone by a clever-yet-ever-so-lucky counter attack

No you didn't.... Goalkeeper was hardly worked, losts of the ball but Weidenfeller didn't have anymore to do than Chesney.
As for the red card i saw it again i was wrong about the jumping thing.... but i still don't think it was a red all he's doing is backing in to Koscielny and he catches Koscielny.
Totally accidental.
Close game and a draw was probably the most fair result and i still expect Arsenal to qualify.

Arsenal were asking for that counter-attack goal on them. Why did they chase the win so, so much at 1 - 1 ? Sure, sometimes you get it, but in a four-team, six-games group stage a draw isn't always a bad result. Arsenal took a big risk and it didn't pay off.
Also, you need a better RB than Sagna. Gives away possession countless of times.

That's because he tagged out and Hummels and the crossbar took over a few timesGreat Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Weidenfeller didn't have anymore to do than Chesney.

We were very close to scoring a 2nd and that's why we didn't hold out for a draw.
In any case, really happy with our performance. We played against the CL finalists and one of the best teams in the world and yet didn't look out of place.
