Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
They lost Gary Neal (you may remember him from game 3 I think, dropping 3's like crazy) and replaced him with Marco Belinelli. Almost identical types of players, long range bombers and little more. Marco is a little quicker and better running up and down the floor, Neal probably a little tougher defensively. They also let Blair go...undersized big man but he is good player. Very strong, bangs and roughs people up, but can hit some jump shots too. But he didnt play in the finals at all, his lack of height sometimes means finding someone he can defend is a problem.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Barrett pls.... D Wade >>>>>> Lefag
Also Dani have Spurs made any major moves in the off season? not really been following anything since game 7 of the championship game.
I'd agree with you tbh, my only thing is the age of their squad its gotta catch up to them eventually.
I'm really only focusing on the top 4 of each conference and i think Dmize has pretty much nailed it.....( i know 8 get to the playoffs but most of the bottom half teams will do nothing there lets be real) just based on last season and what i have heard about the off season moves ( which isn't much mind you)
But its the same core basically.
I agree, age willl catch them eventually..but people been saying that for almost 5 years now lol
Ginobli is fading badly, but Leonard is coming on strong. Parker is still great and Duncan is still one of the best big men.
So I think they will still be the team to beat.

Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
Neal dropped 3s like crazy that is true..... but when he wasn't dropping 3s or more accurately Miami stopped him from doing so in game 6 and 7 for example he came up very very small.
I suppose its still a good guy to have though...
I agree on Leonard he was extremely impressive against Miami.... also agree on Parker and Duncan and the way Duncan plays he doesn't need much fitness anyway.... get him the ball in the perimeter and he will still average 20-30 most nights u'd imagine.
Ginobli is my main concern though, he was nowhere near his prime against the Heat and in his prime he was difference between losing and winning.
Parker is Parker and Duncan will always be consistent but Ginobli was the guy who like Wade for the Heat was a "killer assassin" and would come up in key moments for clutch plays.... didn't see that very much last year.
I think they really need to some how replace that killer in the line up as he won't provide it no more.
I'm mainly interested in Chicago though, mainly because i want to see how Rose is going to be like after that long lay off and how big of a difference he makes.
That quote about his mother probably didn't go down well though

With the return of Rose and the rise of Brooklyn, East playoffs will be insane next year
I think people are jumping on the Houston bandwagon a bit too quickly. Great pieces, but that hole at the wing spot is MASSIVE. Parson is no slouch, but can he contain the elite 3's in this league in the playoffs? Not sure about that.

Agreed, i like Houston and kinda one of the teams i want to see do well..... but its not all there yet and is going to rely a lot on Howard getting back to the Howard we know i'm still Kareem on him as well that his mind isn't all there and he needs to develop a post move.Amar wrote:With the return of Rose and the rise of Brooklyn, East playoffs will be insane next year![]()

Potential is there for them and think they place in the top 4 but i can't really say more than that.
As for who i support RG no one really.... i used to support the Bulls for reasons that are quite obvious and i'm not even going to deny it was because of Jordan

I took a big break from the game and only came back recently..... so at the moment no one really although i must jump straight back on he Bulls fandom ain't decided yet.

Spurs drafted an interesting prospect. Jean Livio Charles, 6'9 19 year old SF/PF from France, with a 7'3 wingspan. Looks like he's got a lot of potential and we know how SAS does with internationals.
He did get a serious knee injury during the summer though, and he's young so the Spurs may not bring him over for a year or two anyway.
Interestingly he played for the French club that Parker owns, Villeurbanne.

Yep, he's one dimensional, dont think they will miss him at all. Not even a blip in the radar, guys like him are littered all over the league and it showed in the ease they found a replacement in Bellinili.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Neal dropped 3s like crazy that is true..... but when he wasn't dropping 3s or more accurately Miami stopped him from doing so in game 6 and 7 for example he came up very very small.

Also on Ginobli, I wouldnt say he cost Spurs the series, but I would say a prime Ginobli or even a Ginobli from 2 years ago, would of been the factor that wins them the series.
Obviously, what happened in game 6 cost them the series in reality, and that was those final crucial plays at the end. But you understand me.
They should of beat he Heat, it was within their reach if they simply didnt fold. And they shockingly folded. So, it depends on their mental state still...because I think they still have all the tools to win, but missing that chance could be like a finale.
The Bulls have the defence to win against anyone and with Rose, you imagine they have the scoring to always give them a chance. I think though they need to make a trade in the powerforward spot to give them more firepower.
They have amazing trade assests and they need to use them to upgrade on Boozer in my opinion.
They have Moratic (spelling) who is the most coverted European player in basketball they can trade the rights to and they have the Bobcats draft pick(who will likely suck). Throw those 2 huge pieces in with Boozer for any of
A. Love
B. Aldridge
C. Horford
And they are really a serious serious problem.
Right now, Boozer will always struggle to defend pick and rolls, defend mobile post players, protect the rim and close out on shooters. He is just a bad bad defensive player and only doesnt get exposed more because of the Bulls team defence. If he was a constant force on offence you wouldnt mind, but he no longer plays in the post and gets his shot blocked because he has no lift and is undersized. Against fast and athletic teams, he will always struggle.
Bring in any of the 3 I mentioned, you get players who can shoot much more consistently (with Love all the way out to the 3 point line) and all have vastly superior face up games at this point. Aldridge even has back to the back game Boozer no longer possesses. Boozer is a good rebounder, but all 3 of them more or less match him and Love when healthy is far and away better, probably the best in the game.
Get that done and I think they challenge the Heat more than anyone.

LeBron calling out KG, Pierce and Doc. Whoa

heres the article if youre too lazy to click
- Spoiler:
Heat call out ex-Celts over Ray Allen
NEW YORK -- Come Thursday night, when the Miami Heat face the Nets for the first time since Brooklyn's league-shaking summer trade, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade think some former Boston Celtics on the Nets might owe the former Celtic on the Heat an apology.
A year ago, there was a stream of vitriol from Boston aimed at Ray Allen after he chose to sign with the Heat in the offseason. Kevin Garnett said he lost Allen's number, Paul Pierce said he hadn't forgiven him, and coach Doc Rivers implied Allen had an ego problem.
Now all three of them are also out of Boston, agreeing to go to teams seemingly on the brink of contention instead of sticking around for Boston's rebuilding project. Garnett waived his no-trade clause so he could go to Brooklyn in a package with Pierce. Rivers engineered his own trade that allowed him to become the coach of the Los Angeles Clippers.
All have said in various ways that it was a tough decision but that they wanted to move on to better situations.
That was essentially Allen's position in 2012, and James and Wade aren't afraid to hint at hypocrisy.
"I think the first thing I thought was, 'Wow, Ray got killed for leaving Boston, and now these guys are leaving Boston,'" James said. "I think it's OK; I didn't mind it. But there were a couple guys who basically [expletive] on Ray for leaving, and now they're leaving.
"That's the nature of our business, man. I don't know what Boston was going through at the end of the day. I know Ray had to make the best decision for him and his family and his career. Doc, KG and Paul did that as well. You can't criticize someone who does something that's best for their family."
James is sticking up for a teammate and taking a shot at some old Boston rivals in the process. But he's obviously sensitive on this topic because of personal experience. He was roundly criticized for leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010.
"I can relate to that; you think so? I'm the No. 1 relater," James said. "I've been through it all. I know all about it."
Wade has been slightly more diplomatic, but it is clear this has been a topic of conversation in the Heat locker room in the wake of the trade that sent the two future Hall of Famers to Brooklyn in July.
"We all know the world, how it works," Wade said. "The biggest thing is Ray is happy [in Miami]. If they're happy in Brooklyn, then let them be happy.
"People say things about people when they do something when they themselves would do the same thing. It's about putting yourself in the best situation, and at the end of the day, we all do that. You can't really say anything about someone that does it for themselves."
Pierce, Garnett and fellow ex-Celtic Jason Terry are three of James' biggest personal rivals in the league, and Wade has a history with them as well. The Heat and Nets play three times in the next two weeks, twice in the preseason and in Brooklyn's regular-season home opener Nov. 1.
It could be the start of a new rivalry in the Eastern Conference, replacing the once fiery Celtics-Heat rivalry. Like when Pierce, Garnett, Terry and even Allen wore green, the sides expect to see each other in the postseason.
"They have champions on their team, they have gold medalists on their team, they have guys who have been through a lot," James said. "It should be fun playing against them throughout the regular season and possibly in the playoffs."
Guess I'm watching their preseason game in a couple hours

Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
Dont make sense to me in regards to KG and PP.
First of all, KG and PP were traded. If they had a choice between staying and Boston trying to challange again by adding to the core...or bolting...they would of obviously stayed.
Second, Boston and Jersey dont have no rivalry...they werent competing with each other for a title in previous years and they wont be this year. Allen bolted from one title contender to their most hated rivals...its hardly the same.
Third, this "best thing for my family" thing is such a load of shit
Players at that level change teams for better chance of winning....Allen didnt move to help his family in any way whatsoever, he is earning less money and as far as I know, his family wasnt living in Miami lol
Dont take this as me criticising Ray, he obviously had problems with Rondo and the way he was being used so he moved teams, to a better one. Not everyone would jump ship to the arch rival, but its not too bad considering the stage of his career. But Lebron makes no sense to me here, the situations arent really close to being the same.

Don't try to make it seem like KG & PP were helpless in that trade. Pierce had to OK the trade for it to happen. Not to mention he actually did convince KG to go with him to Brooklyn. I haven't even mentioned that KG actually had a no-trade clause in his contract a.k.a he couldn't be traded if he didn't waive the clause himself.
Its slightly different but its not apples & oranges stuff. Everyone knows Brooklyn just needed a little push to become title contenders and the trade gave them that.
Oh and FWIW

Im not making it seem like anything.
Are you trying to say that if Boston gave those two an option to stay in and be part of a competitive team they would of still gone to Jersey?
No, of course your not going to claim that.
They were not given that option, Ray was, but he declined it.
So how can you not see the clear difference there?
Showing random brawls dont mean anything, Jersey and Boston have never both been true title contenders since...since I dont remember. They arent real rivals at all. They had brawls, but so did many many teams.

Regardless if they are competing for titles or not. Boston is NY's most hated city, and vice versa. NY-Boston rivalry is as big as it gets in sports.
Re: The Official Dwayne Wade <<<<<< you thread
OK, but thats like saying Houston and Dallas are rivals. Both Texan teams who dont like like each other much but actually on a basketball level...they dont often compete because one is usually clearly better than the other.
Surely you can recognise the difference between a state, or state to state rival and a playing level rival.
Kings and Lakers were more "rivals" in the sense im talking about than the Lakers and Clippers for the exact same reasons.

Isn't that the same with Miami though?
They were never our rivals until LeBron went there. When he leaves, it won't be a rivalry anymore.
The Knicks are our main rivals and the Nets weren't really, but they are in Brooklyn now and they are closer to Boston than the Knicks
Anyway I don't see the two situations as similar either. But they did still go to a team in our own division.

Dummond and Monroe combine for 4-18 shooting.
I didnt watch the game or even the highlights, but im thinking, when you have your point guards going 1-15, the only other guard go 6-17 and everyone else is a forward (Smith, Singler, Jerebko, Mitchell, Villanueva) you can imagine there is very little room to operate close to the basket.
