In January? To be honest, Honda. He's free. He'll give us a boost until the summer where we can actually get a marquee signing in.

If we don't get Honda (he agrees to go somewhere else/we don't even look at him) then I'm obviously alone when I say a Gaston Ramirez or a Pastore (don't think they're getting the right treatment at their respected clubs and would be available). Out of those list, I would want Honda off course because he is free and i was really impressed with him in confed cup. I really dont care what he did OR his stats in the black hole world. I am sure BR would get max from him, and it will be extra element to our squad.

Another player, which I had already mentioed before is Pastore. No need to tell more about him, he is class although light weight like cou but so is özil.

Jovetic off course too but seems unrealistic.

Being lightweight in the BPL is a myth nowadays. You just have to look at majority of the number 10s in the league right now.

Jovetic is some what unrealistic right now. But if he's not getting games (like he isn't now) we might have a chance. Keep the faith.

Man City have been giving us some gems on a free recently (Bellers, Kolo). Obviously won't be expecting Jovetic on a free but you never what could happen.

We definitely won't get him on a free, he just signed a 4 year deal.

We can probably attract him by offering first team and make CL next season, but that all depends if he stays in the same boat as he is now and that is a bench player.

The best player I've seen us linked to so far is Nemanja Matic. Would be a brilliant signing, but he'd be very expensive and apparently Chelsea want him.

Of course Honda officially signs for A.C 3 days later after I recommend him.

Honda is one of the most over rated players out there. Lazy and inconsistent. Talented but doesn't produce the goods enough, wouldn't have solved any of our problems.

Honda would be our best number 10, more so than Coutinho; who isn't ready to play in the centre just yet.

Would also stop playing players like Moses and Aspas there (who can't play in the centre).

It's subjective RedAlert. You sure love to speak in definite terms. In my opinion Honda wouldn't even reach what Coutinho did in 13 matches last season in a whole year for us.

McAgger is right. Honda is a highlight show player. He'll probably score a few great goals at Milan and people will be saying "why did we not buy him!?" but his overall performances won't be consistently good. Never have been.

Best sticking with Coutinho and letting him develop. Games should be shared between him and Alberto. Coutinho starting 25-30 and Alberto playing 10-15 this season. Honda would stall Alberto's development massively whilst the first team wouldn't benefit much in the mean time.

Coutinho played half of those games on the left and then cutting in.

The PL also opens in the second half of the season, it's why I think Arsenal will prosper most in the league this season as the tempo rises (known as the fastest tempo in the league) and the space between midfield and defence normally goes out the window. It's a lot less tactical in the second half of the league. It's why Coutinho struggled at the start of this season when played in the centre, and had to be switched back out to the left but was very good whilst he replaced Suarez because of his ban.

He continuously outperforms Kagawa for Japan, how is he not consistently good? He was very good when I watched him at Moscow (2-3 games) before I got over the Russian premier. Granted I don't watch much of the league anymore, but a highlight player is false. I mean, people labelled Eriksen the same. He performs quite a bit. Anyway, Milan did well to pick him up. He'll probably be a back-up to Kaka until he settles in I think.  

Coutinho won't develop as a number 10 in the future. And if he does, he'll always be a lot more effective on the left hand side and cutting in (the opposite of David Silva where Silva cuts in from the right). You need to be a number 10 from a young age.

Luis Alberto can't even get games over Moses or Aspas. How would have Honda steal game time off him?

Being linked with Jorginho again. We were strongly linked with him in the summer. He's set Serie A on fire so far. Verona sit 5th in the table so far, level on points with 4th Inter and Jorginho being the main reason.

In hindsight, wish we had signed him.

Another name popped up recently from Verona is Juan Itrube. . .

Meh Iturbe is on loan from Porto, dealing with Porto on transfers is a mess. You can be sure to get price raped. Plus we don't really need someone like Iturbe right now.

Fab Romano, linked to the reliable Di Marzio, has claimed that Liverpool are interested in Nemanja Matic for a price of £28 million. Also says that we're looking at Fernando, M'Vila would be a possible idea and that he's sure at least one midfielder will come in.

Apparently he was the first to call the transfers of Sakho, Capoue, Kondogbia and more in the summer.

Definitely seems like we're targeting a defensive midfielder, it's just a shame it's over 3 years too late. Any of the names mentioned would be a massive improvement on what we currently have in that position and would give us a great chance of top 4.

Love the Matic rumors. As you all know he is among my favorite candidates to play in our midfield.

We need a number 10 that can link the midfield from attack. It really doesn't matter if he's a playmaker (Eriksen) or a goal scorer (Mkhitaryan). Just bring one in that's not "for the future" ffs.

A destroyer is not what we need if we go back to playing our dominate football game and scratch this crap we've been playing for the last month or so.

Matic is not a destroyer.
