Who should be our starting CB's?
Simple question.
Puyol comes back soon.Masch too will be back after the break.Dont know long Puyol is expected to last but on the remote chance that he lasts,we have 4 CB's to choose from.
Which two should be our starting pair?
Pique is on a downward spiral.I just dont think he puts in the effort and I dont think he has really progressed much since his first couple of seasons.Could even be argued that he has regressed.
Masch has been better than Pique this season and has played well.
Then we have Bartra who has been playing well in the absence of Masch.Plays with a ton of confidence. Is tall, fast, assured on the ball and generally been good defensively in the few games he has played.
Finally we have our captain, who seems to defy the odds and play well after every injury setback.
I would go with Masch and Bartra as our starting CB's.I think Pique has spent too long in the first team.A spell on the bench might do him good.Masch and Bartra are the form CB's and should be given a chance.

Re: Who should be our starting CB's?
Pique and Bartra, and we should sign a CB in winter to challenge Pique and bench him a little bit. Piqué's bad form is overstated, but he is definitely slower and less focused. I don't get why he has become slower, he's young and in good shape to be slower than before. Competition could help him focus.
Even if Mascherano is playing better than pique, he just can't be oir starting cb. He will never be good enough for us there, because his lack of aerial game penalizes us. We need at least 3-4 tall pkayers every game, and Mascherano takes one out in a crucial position.

I pretty much agree with every word Alex said. Masche + Bartra are the most in form players, Pique will benefit from bench time, and as Puyol recovers fitness we can try Bartra + Puyol (P+M was always awful). It's been a while since we had 4 fit CBs, feels odd.

Noone.
Whichever two is playing the best at the time.
Nobody has proven themselves good enough to earn any sort of status.
If your asking, if the CL final was moved to next week and all 4 guys were fit, which 2 should play, then I think Bartra and Mascherano. But if the team has more than 2 aerial threats, by default it has to be Pique and Bartra.

You can't have the center backs on rotation, much like you can't have the keeper on rotation. You need stability back there. I'll have to agree too with the Bartra/Pique pairing. Masch may have been a bit more solid than Pique this season but he's not getting any taller.

I agree that we need aerial defence. Thing about Pique is that at time he looks to me that he isn't even trying. He can boss a whole game and lose one play that will cost us a goal. can't stand it. not saying he has to be infallable. but he just seems to me that sometimes his mind is set elsewhere

If Mascherano was a bit taller I'd make Piqué clean his shoes and warm the bench for eternity.
Re: Who should be our starting CB's?
Bartra - Pique - Puyol/Masche - Adriano/Alba
I think we should try this, Bartra playing a role similar to abidal's (right instead of the left of the defence).

Maybe in the future Khaled, but benching Dani Alves for Bartra would be a downgrade.
