How highly do you rate Gabriel Agbonlahor?

Average.

I remember when Gerard Houllier was insistent that a pacy Gabbie Agbonlahor should cut down on his weight-lifting. GA was mostly based on his agility & excellent runs in speed to which only complimented his talent. Yet the man continued to bulk up beyond the necessary means to which has resulted in a severe drop of pace, and his very face having the vascularity and skin of Bane from the Batman Comics.

Now you see a player, while still skilled has not adjusted to the drastic loss of pace, a player who hasn't been afforded the time to evolve his game (mostly due to his own downfall) and one who runs as if concrete has been cemented between his shorts.

I still rate Agbonlahor as he is quite definitely a good solid player in many aspects of the game.

Sad that his own weightlifting endeavours caused his demise into what was supposed to be a greater career.

He's started this season pretty well, many have wanted him to get a call-up to the England squad. But whenever he has found good form in the past he hasn't been able to maintain it, if he now finally can have a full season playing the way he's played in the first few games he'll have proved some people wrong.

Pretty much.

I remember this guy when he first came onto the scene and alot of hype surrounded him. He kind of never took off and has stayed at villa for too long to make any move to another club, i believe he became lazy and content with never having to take his game to the next level and his only concern was collecting a pay check from villa park.

That being said i would still have him in the england side as hes as strong as a bull and can come on for the last 10 mins in games and hopefully give strikers flick ons and hold up the ball to create more chance to score
