I'm seriously starting to get worried now

The point of this is to make as good of a team as possible for as cheap as possible (Under 100M euros or so) using actual prices.

Why are people all neglecting to put in £300,000 Andrea Bar instead opting for Centre backs who are half as good and 40-50 times more expensive?

Because most people are trying to only use players that moved this transfer window. I don't know if that's what the OP had in mind but that's what people seem to be doing.

Could have a point. It wasn't specified but it looks that way.

But going back to 2011 you could make a dirt cheap team full of quality. And the prices haven't really changed in that timeframe.
