Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Apparently Tata Martino saw an old recording by Pep of Chygrynskiy and liked it. Pep's assistant at Bayern apparently thinks Chygrynskiy understands Pep's style more than Dante does.

Old recordings.
I can picture it now, Martino stumbling across a hidden room after accidentally moving a book from a shelf. Inside said room, 1,000 dusty recordings of Keita, Chygrynskiy, Hleb and Caceres highlight film.

or worse that a supposed selling squad gets further then you in champions league. :lol:goes to show how low your joke of a club's standards have gone. inbefore top 8 is a trophy
also you could add Reus to your teams long list of imaginary transfers
Cesc.. Messi.. Ronaldo.. Iniesta now Reus
only pride i had saying we were in 7th was just proving you wrong while I was hammered drunk writing that last night
joke of a club kids like you are what taint an entire fan base with your high horse mentality, do barcelona and the sensible supporters a favour and quit supporting them before you and the rest of them "new fans" make the fan base unbearable

Roma for Heitinga and Capoue
By Football Italia staff
Roma director Walter Sabatini is in England for talks with Everton’s Johnny Heitinga and Etienne Capoue of Tottenham.
According to calciomercato.it, director of sport Sabatini flew into England over the weekend in order to negotiate ahead of the January transfer window. His primary targets are Heitinga and Capoue.
Dutch defender Heitinga wants more playing time in order to be sure of his spot at the 2014 World Cup, so is eager to leave Everton mid-season.
The 30-year-old’s Italian agent was instrumental in the deal that brought Kevin Strootman to Roma, so there are high hopes for this move.
Sabatini is also due to meet his former Roma colleague Franco Baldini, who is now the director at Tottenham.
The Giallorossi are offering to sign 25-year-old defensive midfielder Capoue on loan in order to help him rediscover his form.
He only joined Spurs from Toulouse in August and can also be used as a defender, but has struggled for playing time.
Both these players are considered to be ‘safety’ options if Roma cannot sign their top choices Marco Parolo of Parma and Cagliari’s Radja Nainggolan.
While in England, Sabatini is also expected to hold talks with Cardiff City, Fulham and Southampton over USA international midfielder Michael Bradley.
Centre-forward Marco Borriello has requests from the Premier League too with Everton, Fulham, Tottenham and West Ham United interested in his services.
------------------------------
Would take Capoue tbh, but wouldn't touch Heitenga with a 10 foot pole. Dude has been mediocre for years.
Mixed feelings on the Bradley links. I personally would prefer he stay, but with the WC coming, he needs more playing time. Any of those clubs can provided that to him so if its gotta get done, then it will be done.
Boriello hasn't looked too bad pre-injury, but with his wages, offloading him would be smart if we can do it. I just hope we have the coverage as this will depend on Totti, Gervinho and Destro's fitness.

Heitinga is still a regular in the Dutch team? Geez, how bad are their defenders?

Nah, hasn't played for us in 2013, or maybe once or twice in a friendly. Our defense has a lot more potential now, but most of them are young. If they progress as they should, we should have a very decent defence next EC. Brazil wil be too soon for these guys to perform consistantly on a high level imo.
Vlaar has been playing a bit more for the NT though. When he was still at Feyenoord he looked really shakey. Seems to have gotten rid of that but is still kind of meh. I think Van Gaal mostly lets him play based on his experience (compared to the youngsters). Don't really watch Villa play, don't know what you premfaces make of him?
Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. I
He is the best player in defence at Villa but that is like saying he is the least rotten apple. Still pretty average.

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. I
Agreed, he would be an upgrade to Lucas defensively and would provide actual offense from deep lying areas. Crazy what the injuries have done to Lucas given how good he was, but he seems to have aged 10 years in wear and tear on his body.
Admittedly, I wouldn't mind seeing Bradley at Southampton considering he's light years above Wanyama whose injury seems to be what sparked their recent dive in form. Would be a great addition to an already great project.
My first choice though would be for him to remain at Roma as the long term successor to De Rossi.
Not sure how I feel about this one, but if I had to choose between keeping him or Capoue I'd rather hold onto Capoue. Not that they play the same position, but Paulinho has been largely meh for me. However, he's more reliable in terms of health than Dembele, but I still prefer Dembele for Spurs. Not saying he's a better player than Paulinho, but Dembele is a better player for what I think is our style of play. That could change though under Sherwood.

Bradley to Liverpool is the most sensible move of the bunch. Naturally, that's why there are no links for it.
You'd think 2 related clubs like Roma and Liverpool would do more business than just your intermittant Italians, but oh well.
Really think MB would do well in the PL. Villa stint was a joke and half.
Like I said though, he still has a place at Roma even if we bring in another midfielder.

We do need to sign a midfielder but i wouldnt say that Paulinho is the wisest of choices. Would much rather we go for Luiz Gustavo.

Depends on your needs, because Paulinho is an offensive B2B CM, he is not a DM in any way shape or form. However, I heard that they opened up talking with Xabi Alonso finally so he would obviously be your first choice in the midfield.

Re: 2013/14 Winter Transfer Rumours Mk. I
my point exactly, we dont need another offensive minded player. I would be much more interested in having a player that can do more for us defensively in midfield, and potentially anchor our midfield to allow other mids to attack, even without Xabi. I dont think Paulinho is like that, and i have to say, he doesnt impress me much as a player.Motogp69 wrote:Depends on your needs, because Paulinho is an offensive B2B CM, he is not a DM in any way shape or form. we almost always make bad signings, this would be nothing new anyway.

Yeah, I'm not overly impressed, he just makes me miss in form Dembele that much more

RM don't need a player of Paulinho's ilk.
He's been inconsistent for Tottenham yet though. Still think he has the potential to be a cracking player however, I like Paulinho quite a bit.
