How can we save Shinji?
I want you to use http://this11.com/boards/editor and create a strong formation in which we can use Kagawa, Rooney, RvP, the wingers and probably Fellaini at their full potential, at the same time on the pitch.
I thought a lot and I couldn't find the perfect formation.
It's a puzzle...

Re: How can we save Shinji?
Firenze, we have already played a lot of games with that formation and Kagawa didn't like to go inside from the left side...
Dutti, Rooney on the left side and Kagawa on that position don't look pretty good; I don't believe they can play in that formation at full potential.
B-Mac, interesting formation, but replace Clevs with Fellaini and Kagawa with Herrera.
I want to see Kagawa playing CF or CAM, like he did for Dortmund...

Re: How can we save Shinji?
Actually, Rooney's past performances on the left flank were pretty good. Besides, Kagawa used to play just behind a striker at Dortmund; and with Rooney close to Kagawa's position, they can complement each other. Herrera being a complete box-to-box could form a strong partnership with De Rossi (how I wish).

I said that I want to see a formation with both Rooney and Kagawa in it at full potential.

Re: How can we save Shinji?
It's impossible. Unless, you use B-mac's or Lumiere's formation, which still doesn't fufill his potential completely.
In the other formations, either Rooney or RVP have to be benched for Kagawa to play in his favoured position. I think Kagawa will have to suffer a little this season on the left wing with occasional AM opportunities. Maybe more if someone gets injured.
RVP, is on the wrong side of 30, if Kagawa is willing to wait for RVP's decline (which might take long) or Rooney's next hissy fit (I'm only kidding Vlad ), he can then make AM his own.
Btw, I think if Kagawa works hard enough he can succeed in that left wing role, and everyone is happy.

Re: How can we save Shinji?
Yeah, everyone will be happy if he will the chance to play the CAM role. Oh, wait...Rooney's injured.
Kagawa on the CAM position is a must in the next game. Do you remember that superb first half at Old Trafford against Liverpool last season? Kagawa played AM in that game. Moyes should watch that match because it was one of Kagawa's best performances for Man United so far.
Maybe we should stick more on a 4-2-3-1 with 3 AMs, RAM/CAM/LAM . We played this formation many times, but lately we went back to a 4-4-1-1. Nani could easily play RAM. In my opinion this is the formation that we should insist developing in this season.
------------------RvP----------------
---Kagawa -----Rooney-----Nani------
---------Carrick-------Fellaini---------
---Evra-----Vidic----Ferdy----Rafael--
------------David de Goat------------
Don't you agree?

Re: How can we save Shinji?
I don't think RVP will decline so significantly after 30, he is a player that relies on his technical ability and movement more then pace which is what falls off after 30....RVP could be a elite prem player till 34-35 imo, I think SAF realized this as well and is one of the reasons why he wasn't hesitant to bring him in when for years we had only been buying players below 24

Re: How can we save Shinji?
hmm .
either way zaha should be brought into the 11 pretty soon. he is one gem of a player we have got and he has more than enough in him to make him shine even at this high level. So cp game will be the ideal one to see all these guys, even chicha in the mix more.

Re: How can we save Shinji?
I'd rather use a 4-2-1-3 with two CMs than a 4-1-2-3 with one DM. And definitely Jones isn't a first team player.
Carrick and Fellaini must be our new CM partnership.
However, I like more the 4-2-3-1 that I was talking about in the previous page.

Re: How can we save Shinji?
yea but the important thing now is to persist with him. play him ffs moyes somewhere, even if it is a wide role, just play him. PLEASE dont drop him to the bench now. He HAS to start wednesday.
The lad is just awesome. He has worked helluva hard and it looks as if finally he is finding his feet at Manchester United. He is also looking competent in the wide role nowadays. dat dedication to succeed.
