Re: Transfer Rumours V4
many different websites saying Pep wants David Luiz
might be our last chance to get him should we even want him in the first place
despite many here disliking luiz, it makes me wonder why Pep wants him and if he does get him and turns out to be world class big facepalm to us.

I hope this isn't true. Hate Luiz and never want to see his head in the Allianz Arena again.

If Luiz signs for Bayern, I would take anyone of Dante, Boateng or Badstuber when he returns.

Dante is worse than Mascherano. Must have conceded half a dozen penalties in the past 6 months alone, including the CL final. Publicly criticized by Beckenbauer even recently. But he's of course big, black and a "natural" CB so The Franchise doesn't care. Franchise, pls go.

Never really liked his mentality. He lacks aggression and isn't really elite in my opinion. For me he has always been the weakest link in Bayern. The Franchise wrote:Why not?

Re: Transfer Rumours V4
You're completely exaggerating. Dante was a fantastic addition last season, he played consistent, secure and was good for the team as a whole. He started to make a little too many *bleep* lately, that's however true.futbol wrote:Dante is worse than Mascherano. Dante is almost like Mascherano but tall, he is reckless and clumsy.
Luiz would be an upgrade to him should he join Bayern.

David Luiz puts Dante in the bench for Brazil, so no thank you to him
from what i've seen of him he reminds me of a taller mascherano, clumsy and reckless.

Did I say anything about big, black of natural?
Shut up then.
And who gives a shit what Beckenbauer said, like its gospel or something.
He is not worse than Mascherano.

Still fairly young, think he has got alot of talent and I have seen games where he puts it on full display.

Re: Transfer Rumours V4
"Boateng lacks aggression" lol that's just idiotic.
He used to get into trouble for over-aggressive (but wonderfully spectacular) high risk actions, he's contained them now a bit.

Makes totally no sense.
You know Luiz and Silva were an established pairing before Dante moved to Bayern and therefore showing the world his true level?
And you know, for a coach to drop a player (Luiz) they have to be doing something wrong, or at least performing at a level clearly lower than the guy waiting to replace him?
Luiz starting for Brazil has no reflection on how good or bad Dante is.
I assume you agree that Khedira is better than Gündoğan seeing as when both were fit, Khedira was the one playing?

Re: Transfer Rumours V4
Do you lot think Barcelona should buy an experienced striker, for big games? I don't know if it's just me, but Messi hasn't looked very effective as a false 9 in big games lately. Whenever, Barca have won a big game these past 2 seasons (which isn't many) Messi was playing behind the striker. Comeback against Milan he was playing behind Villa while Alves took responsibility of the entire right flank and the 2-1 win against Madrid he played as a RW.

Re: Transfer Rumours V4
Dont know about experienced, but yes, a 9 with different qualities to our current players.
Last 2 seasons? Just last season no? Because are you counting this season also it isnt a full season and Messi been injured for most of it. Even if he didnt do much of anything vs Madrid (not playing false 9 either)
I also think the bigger reason for him not working well there is not that the position no longer, but the fact last season we were not able to dominate possesion in the correct areas of the field. At the back and in deep midfield we werent too bad at that, but keeping the ball in advanced area's was a big fail last season in big games...it just didnt happen often at all, whereas it used to be standard procedure. That and him becoming lazier and lazier off the ball.
Anyway, yes, but just because it would add something we dont have to the mix. I think Tello is done with us really and we shouldnt bother replacing him with a similar player, but a different kind of 9.
I am not sure if it should be a targetman, someone who runs in behind, a total poacher or what though.

Re: Transfer Rumours V4
Not just last season. Even Pep used Alexis infront of Messi in the Bernabeu and tried to evolve with the 3-4-3 (double false 9 with Messi-Fabregas). This is how the opponents centerbacks and defensive midfielders cage Messi in.
At one point the crowding in the middle becomes too big even for Messi and Barcelona to play their way through. Now Franchise says it's because we're not getting into the advanced areas anymore. But therein lies the question. Do we not get the ball into advanced areas or do we not get the ball into advanced areas because of the tactics where the main focal point of the team is surrounded by 4 players?
Admittedly our wingers have become infinitely more penetrative than last season and we spread it around a lot quicker in midfield as well. Whereas Madrid have regressed defensively as they don't just sit back and play pure counterattack under Carlo anymore. Now they are neither counterattack specialists (Barca have actually scored more goals from counters this season) nor possession specialists. Atletico Madrid on the other hand are exactly the kind of team that will squeeze that false 9 area to a point where Messi will have to drop so deep that he will play in Xavi's area. In those kind of games you'd need a #9 to work the centerbacks which in return will allow Messi to work between the lines.
I'm not sure why Alexis can't do this though. He can play like a #9, his movement is excellent. He's even good in the air.

Chicharito is worth Looking It imo; He'd Be Great against Tight Defences plus He Knows How to PLay Off The Shoulder of The Last Defender and a Good Header of The Ball . . .
