That's because Atleti has 5-6 guys, including Griezmann, who press in the opposition side... so when they get a turnover, the defense has no chance to even try and get back into position. Makes for quick strikes.

But Griezmann has a knack for finding the open areas and his finishing has become clinical. He's very good on the ball, but even better off the ball... that's why he's become so good.

I'm not doubting Griezmann's ability, he is a great player. I'm just saying, it's not like they made it difficult for him to score.

A lot of his goals seem simple because he does all the hard work off the ball to get into that perfect position. Muller-level movement off the ball for Grizzy.

It's impressive moreso because he's only taken 106 shots for his 26 goals... he's not a CF. To get that kind of efficiency from a 10 is pretty darn ridiculous.

29 goals so far... going to break 30 easily. Considering how atleti plays and he rarely plays on top, quite a feat. Interesting that he's more of a playmaker for NT and has been excellent at that too. Excellent defensively too.

PSG are targeting him... doesn't mean he wants to go there. I'm sure he'll have plenty of offers from elite teams. Namely, if Ronaldo is sold, Madrid would be there. I'm sure City, Chelsea and Leicester will call him too.

To me, he's in the conversation as the best player in the world this season.

6 goals in the Euro is second only to Platini's 9 in 1984. To perform like this at home in France... and play the way he has. Incredible. He's been technically quasi-perfect in the elimination rounds.
