Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Nobody's saying that.Infact i agree with you.I just dont like why he is getting so much hate when infact whatever he is reported about this Bale's transfer has been right bar the price which sometimes you can get right sometimes you cant.Comparing him to an attention seeker like Ballague is quite pathetic tbh.@sportsczy wrote:I agree he's one of the better ones around and definitely the best for Serie A. But to make him out as infallible and equally as reliable with other leagues is not something i can agree with.
Other than Madrid, he's been inaccurate with reports in regards to Arsenal and PSG, both of which i follow too.
As with every reporter, you have to identify the scope of his work. I'm not dissing Di Marzio... just saying that i feel some people are making him out to be bigger than he is.
He was very accurate with Gustavo transfer too when he first mentioned that Wolfsburg are very interested.I've been reading his website since months and there's only one thing he got wrong and that is Digne's transfer when he said he will go to Monaco.Apart from that there literally has been no bsing.90% of them were true.

Agreed Surag
As for his prices, well most prices aren't even disclosed. So plenty of prices we have known for some time will infact be a bit off.

Di Marzio has very good sources in Bundi... I'm not sure if it's with every club or certain ones. But the few things of his i have read in regards to Bundi have been mostly accurate.
Anyhow, Di Marzio is great. I like him a lot

Bale being British means nothing. Absolutely nothing. He's Welsh; that's his footballing identity. The Scots, English, Welsh and Northern Irish care absolutely nothing for each other, especially when it comes to football.

He's a very good journalist. He doesn't tend to bullshit but he obviously isn't going to be the best around for every single seperate club
So when somebody has some sort of personal vendetta against him, comparing him to gossipers, just seems like they're taking something he said/reported personally. Which is odd.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
well he IS British
And British people are even "supporting" the Irish despite them not being part of Britain. Theres just that sense of respect between the countries now compared to before. They will absolutely be behind him

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Britain as a footballing entity doesn't exist. The gimmick at the Olympics, which was forced through by the FA, was simply to ensure Britain had competitors in ever sport at London 2012.@halamadrid2 wrote:well he IS British
You've convinced yourself that him being British broadens his marketing appeal. It doesn't. He's from a nation of 3m, that has more sheep than people and cares more about rugby that footy.
I'm sorry, but this is absolute stinking horseshit. Do you even live in the UK?And British people are even "supporting" the Irish despite them not being part of Britain. Theres just that sense of respect between the countries now compared to before. They will absolutely be behind him
I seriously doubt you'll find a more tense level of animosity and rivalry between England an the other nations in the British Isles.
He doesn't represent Britain, he represents Wales in the same way Beckham represented England.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Badger has a point to be fair
I live in Britain, and the hype factor that goes with young, promising English players does not extend to Welsh players. There is no extra hype because he's Welsh and every Welsh person in the country would have to buy a Bale top just to cover his transfer + some wages.

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
I said that
I think he will be great in marketing aspects but there are more football stars who are of British origins than just Bale. he will be one of the many
but imagine being the star of madrid.....people will finally come out of hiding and not be too embarrassed to say they support him *cough* lex *cough*

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
When it comes to football being British means that grand sum of nothing. Great Britain is a union of separate nations that have their own identity and representation at sport.@halamadrid2 wrote:I said that

Bale is Welsh. He won't have the level of support from the English that someone like Beckham did when he played overseas.

I suppose thats true but they will ignore his nationality if he becomes a star. They will pretend he was English all along
Not many British players have done well overseason and not many players that aren't from England but from other countries in the UK have made it out to begin with. Giggs is being spoken of as a legend of the game despite being from the tiny wales

Re: Gareth Bale Transfer Saga V.2
Bale will have a lot of hype around him if he does well. Don't get me wrong.
But the hoardes of English fans who got behind the likes of Beckham aren't going to give two shits about Bale, and they certainly won't pretend he's English.
Also, he's hardly the pretty poster boy who's got his claim to numerous model deals and sponsorships is he?
