This is the best preseason we've had results wise EVER. We went undefeated in summer of 08 but we drew twice iirc

Mignolet still not conceded.

Their goalkeeper was on fire in the first half.

Toure could have had a hat-trick in the second.

Nah, not going to bother. I looked at buying tickets on Donedeal the other day and they were too dear for a pre-season match imo. Probably go to Anfield around Christmas time/New Years instead.

As everyone is occupied with suarez and stuff....it was surely another day to cheer for another result in the preseason, which continues the undefeated status till now.

Lot of positives to take from today's match. The first and foremost is Hendo being named as captain: which he enjoyed successfully, making so many passing movements possible which led to even goal or clear cut chances being created. We may have found another legs to lead us in the future.

The midfield looked so lively even when a second string team played. Wisdom surely looked as the first choice NT CB for future. Except that everyone played good and few have improved. As always many things are still to be improved....

For me the most important thing is we are trying to adapt tp more unpredictable tactics. Sometimes hitting on the counter, sometimes building right from the back to oppositions's net, sometimes being very direct passing, sometimes even hoofing near D area. I really like it than the pure Barca way.

Hendo and Allen were both excellent in the first half, creating with passing and dribbling and were everywhere on the pitch. Alberto also looked good and took his goal very well. Aspas had great movement and created problems, but missed several sitters. Ibe also played very well but was wasteful in shooting.

Second half, Sterling looked good to me. Coutinho was pretty quiet for most of the half, as was Gerrard, but both picked up their game in the last 20 minutes or so and made some quality passes and attacks. Toure looked strong at the back again, and Mignolet was good in the rare times he showed up. Martin Kelly looked good most of the time, although he was caught out of position a few times on the right.

Wisdom was the only player to play the full 90 minutes, at CB, and looked commanding to me.
