Del Piero: 'Happy back in Italy'

Alessandro Del Piero is back in Italy for pre-season training with Sydney FC and wishes Carlos Tevez “all the best” at Juventus.

The Bianconeri legend touched down with his teammates today in Venice, where Sydney will stay until August 22 at nearby Jesolo.

“I do miss Italy, but I am happy with my new adventure in Australia,” Alex told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I am always happy to come back to my country.”

Much has been written about the fact Juve gave his Number 10 jersey to newcomer Tevez.

“I wore it for years and what I had to do has been done. Now I wish Tevez and the whole team all the best.”

Sydney FC’s first friendly will be against Padova on August 7.
