Vibe wrote:Ricky had obvious talent from day one but still lacked a lot of things to play football in Serie A.Had no stamina, had a slow brain and it took him ages to make a decision, passing was off and we weren't sure of his best position.
All of this could have been ironed out with some consistent game time, average fan watching him could see it.Most of the chances he got were 10 minutes before the end when we are a couple goals down and expecting a miracle from him after he spent the last 3 games on the bench.Coaches would throw him at random positions inconsistently, from LWB to RW,them LW,LM,RM,CM,AM...It made me sick.
First time he got a consistent run of games he absolutely shined. We had all our strikers injured and he played SS alongside Rocchi.Apart from Kovacic,he was the only thing I was looking forward to week after week. With the tactical education he got from Mazzari he became one of(maybe the one) of most complete players in our team, quite a contrast from his first year when he was easily the most incomplete one.

BIG MATCHDAY #2 IN SERIE A
Before the International break we had Inter v Roma, Juve v Milan, and Fiorentina v Lazio...
Headlining this week are:
Roma v Napoli
1st v 2nd. Roma face their toughest test so far. Will their winning streak continue?
Milan v Udinese
Crunch time for Allegri to turn this around. Balo back from suspension.
Fiorentina v Juventus
One of the most bitter rivalries in Serie A. The title-holders against the ambitious Viola.
GET IN!
Which games will you be watching?

cant wait for the game against Napoli , i suppose Dodo needs to step up but can he? or will Garcia opt for marquinho or Toro incase Maicon returns ?i guess if Roma manages to get early goal like Arsenal that makes the game easier .

If I was a neutral I'd say Roma - Napoli should be the most exciting match of the weekend.

Erick Thohir has completed his takeover of Inter, president Massimo Moratti has confirmed.
Moratti and the Indonesian businessman had been in talks for a number of months, with negotiations thought to have been at a standstill as Moratti refused to allow the Indonesian businessman to purchase a 100 per cent stake in the club.
However, a deal has finally been agreed which will see Thohir own 70 per cent of the club's shares, and Moratti admitted he was relieved to be leaving the club "in good hands."
"The documents have been signed," Moratti told reporters after putting pen to paper on the agreement.
"I find it hard to find the right words to describe how I feel. I just pretend that everything is still normal. Things went fast all of a sudden, but Inter are in good hands.
"Things will possibly change over time, but the important thing is that respect is the base of everything."
Moratti, who took over at Inter in 1995, also suggested he could yet stay on as Nerazzurri president, although no decision over the post has yet been made.
"Will I continue as president? We'll see what happens..."
Inter won five Serie A titles, four Coppa Italia trophies and one Champions League under Moratti.

It is unfortunate that only in 2 clubs in Spain and 1 in Germany can be at the top in Europe consistently without foreign investment. Even Juventus with all the FIAT money is saying they are poor.

We're trying to become a self sufficient club long-term
Sure it's nice to be bankrolled short term but it's better if you can compete with the best without relying purely on some rich guy getting bored and pumping your club full of money for a while.

Because those 3 clubs are totally self-sustainable and generate revenue which Italian clubs can only dream of.inter1lachen wrote:It is unfortunate that only in 2 clubs in Spain and 1 in Germany can be at the top in Europe consistently without foreign investment. Juventus have the same approach(which is the right approach) except that the revenue streams are considerably lesser hence cant afford to spend big money.

I would assume Nainggolan to become a transfer priority for these guys considering the Indonesian connection and all.

Thohir was pushing for Nainggolan in the summer but we couldnt afford him and signed Taider instead. From a sporting standpoint our priority should be a reliable LW to replace Periera, but we'll have to see what approach the new management takes

A name that has been mentioned quiet alot is Šime Vrsaljko from Genoa. He plays at RB though so im not sure how we'd fit both him and Jonathan. There is also talk about Fernando (who's contract expires next summer) as an alternative for Nainggolan. Renewals with Samuel, Chivu, Zanetti, Cambiasso and Milito are not a priority since Thohir wants to build a young team.

Well if Zanetti wants a renewal he'll get it. Thohir will not want to risk his relationship with the fans from the get go. Now there are doubts surrounding his fitness since he hasnt played a single game this season, but if he proves that he's capable by the end of the season the renew will just be a formality. His wages should not be a problem either as he already took a wage cut in the previous renewal

From goal.com
TRANSFERS - What sort of Thohir will we see on the market? Many may dream of Inter becoming spendthirft, but the new model will most certainly not be of the ilk which has seen PSG and Manchester City become modern money giants of the game. Thohir is no Al Thani, nor Sheikh Mansour. In January, the transfer activity is likely to be along the same lines we have witnessed in recent years, with Inter simply looking to get back on track rather than wanting to blast a hole in the market. The new board will look to invest intelligently, settling debts and getting the books balanced before looking too far ahead in the market. Rather than signing a Cristiano Ronaldo or Cesc Fabregas, Inter will be focusing on closing out deals that have been near-misses in the past, such was the case with Tottenham arrival Paulinho. That's not to say the club don't have big ambitions on the market, they will just have to wait until a time when they can truly afford it. The most realistic goal for significant transfer investment at this stage appears to be 2016.
THE YOUTH - This is one area which Thohir has been greatly enthusiastic about, studying the quality of the youth setup at the club from very early on in his assault to buy the company. As part of his strategy, Thohir has included a project to further develop the youth, including the loan and co-ownership of young players at sattelite clubs. The new owner particularly likes the idea of a partnership with DC United, but is open to other possibilities. The Indonesian considers this area to be one of Inter's key strengths already and simply wants to maintain that quality.
COACHING STAFF - We conclude with the football itself, and those who will be asked to lead the team forward for the forseeable future. Walter Mazzarri may only have signed a two-year deal last June, but that was largely down to Moratti wanting Thohir to evaluate everything for himself before making a decision on the coaching position for the longer term. Thohir made it clear from early in negotiations though that he would leave Mazzarri to get on with his job wherever possible, and the good start to the season has only reinforced that frame of mind. Right now there is a great degree of confidence in the coach from all involved in the talks regarding the future, suggesting that a continuation of the upward trend in results could see the former Napoli boss handed a new deal before 2015.

All I can say is that this guy racks up huge points in the fantasy team. He seems to assist or score a goal each game.zizzle wrote:A name that has been mentioned quiet alot is Šime Vrsaljko from Genoa.
