I thought this was pretty common, not just in football either.

If you look closely at the shot of his back you can see the pocket between his shoulder blades where the GPS sits. It tracks his distance run and movement around the field.

BTW, the print "GPSPORT" on it sort of gives it away, too, that it is some GPS device. ^^
