Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Considering what he's going through at Zenit, I think Hulk would probably jump at the chance to return from relative obscurity.

who's going to pay 40+ mil for Hulk? Also, he has 3rd party ownership issues that are extremely difficult to resolve for EPL teams.

Bale isn't worth that much and I don't understand the boner that Perez has for him.

Yup, that's probably the reason why he's still in Russia. Whoever wants to deal with that will get themselves a grateful player, but there haven't been too many takers this window.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Nothing "unlucky" about them not getting 4th last season. They just didn't play well enough to get it. This isn't 2012 where they ened 4th but we edged them out because of the CL win. That was unlucky. They simply didn't perform as good as Chelsea & Arsenal. Their position was justified.Great Leader Sprucenuce wrote:Tomwin Lannister wrote:As always Tottenham -could- get a top 4 spot. But they're like Romas evil twin brother in a way, they find themselves near the top of the table then before you know it they're 10 points away from 4th
Tbf they did finish 4th twice under Arry and were very unlucky not to do so last season.
Its not that outlandish at all and out of the challengers they have strengthened the most by far.

Besides, you can't blame me. RDM did perform poorly at one point despite the high flying start. But the fact that you think we COULD miss out on top 4 with the talent in the squad atm and with Mourinho is quite interesting. I'm willing to bet on it we don't finish below 2nd.

What on earth are RM thinking? 82 mill? 50 mill plus Contreao and Di Maria? fcking madness.
Bale is nowhere near worth all that.

It depends. Sure objectively speaking it would be too much but buying marketable legit talent is almost always worth it. Bale is proven and a multiple EPL player of the year winner so really you can't really do much better than him in terms of prestige signing atm.
Also "New Money" has been flexing it's muscle this summer so it's natural that Madrid with it's status as "Old Money" wants to show the world that when it comes to signing top talent they are very much on top.

I'm certain Di Maria will not agree to Spurs swap (Contreao might), so what will Madrid offer next!!!

If we are getting him then £50m should be the maximum bid.

Also doesn't hurt that Arsenal got gifted games last year by horrible officiating, which we all seem to forget, but were outraged about when it happened.
Spurs did what they could, should of finished 4th, but it is what it is. More consistency during the season and we would of finished comfortably in the top 3 and possibly in the top 2.
I have no doubts we'll finish 4th we were better than Arsenal then and we are better than Arsenal now. The only teams that concern me are City and Chelsea. City because they are more talented than everyone else, and Chelsea just because they always give us a hard game just like City.

Just like the decisions which went against us. Shit happens.

At no point you were better than Arsenal. If you were, you wouldn't have lost the 9 points lead you had over us after the 2nd NLD. That is the fact, not an opinion.
Next season? We will talk who has a better team in 2 weeks.[/quote]

60 mil + Di Maria and Coentrao, that like 50 mil value right there, seems about right for Bale

Se7en wrote:Mole is right. If they reach CL next season it will be worth it. They're basically getting rejected by every striker in the market right now so they wouldn't be able to replace Bale's goalscoring aswell
Except Soldado it would seem who is very much capable of playing in the CL.
Spurs have enough money to through around. Their owners are greedy tax-avoiding billionaires so it's not as if they're in any desperate need to sell Bale.

We would have finished 2nd too if it weren't for that blip of RDM's screw up & Rafa just coming in

FFS we would have won the league. Afterall we were topping the league before that period

That logic just doesn't work. Not in a league of 38 matches, Motogp.
