If every person in Wales buys a Bale shirt, RM won't get their money back!

Bale isn't going to sell anything with Ronaldo on the same team.

I wonder if Perez is bullying Spanish banks again to fund the Bale purchase.

Even if you include sheep they won't make their money back!The_Badger wrote:If every person in Wales buys a Bale shirt, RM won't get their money back!
- Spoiler:
- 8.62 million sheep in Wales.
3.06 million people in Wales.
total quantity = 11.68
€45 per shirt -21% IVA = €36 of which 50% is profit i.e. €18
€18 × 11,680,000 = €21.0 million

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Does any Real Madrid fan feel that Perez ever has the club's best interested at heart, or do you feel that he just uses the club as tool to stroke his own ego with?

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Well if you want to get more sophisticated you could include wages + sales price. Given that Higgy was purchased for 12m, sold for 37m, had a contract of 1.5m for his first 3 years and then 3m for the remainder Madrid actually made a profit on his every goal. RM are unlikely to sell Bale at even half the price they purchased him for, though.danyjr wrote:BarrileteCosmico wrote:So if Bale scores an optimistic 120 goals in his time at Madrid that means Madrid paid 1m per goal. Not that I disagree with the assertion that not every goal is worth the same, I was just trying to illustrate how much silly money Florentino is spending.

If Perez is good with anything it's numbers....have you seen those numbers generated by Madrid over the years especially the recent report from Forbes?

They are certainly impressive, but I feel this would be achieved regardless of him, RM are after all, the biggest football club in the world.
What is noticeable though is the lack of success on the pitch. Perez may think RM's power is in money, wealth and revenue but is it not what happens in football itself that matters most?
I get the impression he seemingly cares not one jot about titles and trophies and cares more about his legacy as a business man.

Achieved? maybe, but we don't know that. All I know is that he is running the financial side well.
Even on the footballing side he clearly has good intentions trying to purchase the best player (Isco, Bale) the best managers (Carlo, Mou) even though he sometimes does not know what he is doing. Right now Zidane and Ancelotti have a big say on who we buy. Not all down to Perez. Zidane is actually one of the people pushing for Bale and he does have our best interest.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Do you think the inclusion of Bale, overall, is good for the team and that he's the link needed for RM to win league titles and CL on a regular basis?

Actually no. He is just the regular blockbuster signing our club needs to sign.
But oh well he is one of the best in the world and I won't bet against him doing very well.

----Ronaldo--------Bale
-------------Ozil------
Isco-----Modric---Khedira
A little lightweight in midfield, but could be devastating.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Even without Bale, and selling Higuain, RM's attacking potent is world class. He just seems like an unnecessary addition that risks unbalancing and destabilising the team. The thing is, what happens if he just doesn't fit? £100m for a player on the bench sets up a huge fallout.

he will only play forward and not AM so he won't destabilize the team thankfully. Judging by our preseason we will be playing 4-2-2-2 and he will likely partner Ronaldo in the attack
