Nice to see you both seem to have made up with each other.

Bale's not injured. He's training normally. He's just refusing to play...
Flo is going to take a perfectly good team and ruin it like always ffs.

he has been to one training common you cant expect a guy who has only trained once since his injury to travel with his team and play
edit: about perez. well what can we do other than just sit back and observe the chaos that breaks out

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Well, the last four pages were interesting. Even getting to read a rare Crimson post, lovely. I do wonder if any of those prices media outlets are printing are even remotely true because if Madrid did offer over 90 million pounds, Bale would be a Real Madrid player by now and I would have to put up with posts similar to Badger's concerning Real Madrid's morality or whatever...

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says Real Madrid's €115 million pursuit of Tottenham winger Gareth Bale "makes a joke" of Uefa's Financial Fair Play regulations.
The Frenchman has so far been frustrated in his attempts to reinforce his squad this summer, with Napoli outspending the Gunners for Gonzalo Higuain, while Liverpool continue to hold firm over Luis Suarez.
And when asked about Madrid's potential world-record capture of the Welshman, Wenger struggled to understand how clubs can continue to splash the cash despite Uefa's plans to curb spending.
"It makes a joke of it,' he told reporters. "It's quite amazing in the year when Financial Fair Play comes in, world football goes completely crazy.
"You wonder what kind of impact and effect it has on the football world. It looks like it has made everybody worse than before."
Arsenal have around €80m in transfer funds available to them this summer, and sections of the club's support have grown restless that no big-name arrivals have come through the door of the Emirates Stadium so far.
"If you say we're under pressure to spend money, yes we are," Wenger added.
"But I feel more under pressure to spend the money in the right way and that's what I'll try to do. We want to spend it if it strengthens our team. Just spending the money is not a quality.
"Spending the money, buying the right players, that's a quality, of course.
"If you can give me names who are better than the players we have currently, I am ready to talk about it."

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Every scrubby club will now ask for at least 20% more for their players after the Bale transfer is done.
Mid/lower table teams will be absolutely priced out of the players they could have bought 4 years ago with their income.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
As long as clubs make money, they can spend it. Madrid can afford it as can others.
Arsenal just need the excuse to keep the fans from rioting.
And i disagree RG... EPL teams are getting an extra 45 mil each minimum starting this year. That's the reason the market will go up, not the Bale transfer. It's a supply and demand thing.

Not just talking about the EPL man. French clubs, Spanish clubs and even the Italian clubs. They are going to be priced out eventually.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Dont understand what is Wenger on about..How does that make joke of FFP when Madrid are spending what they earns? He is probably scared of Tottenham using dem monies wisely.
Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
French clubs don't buy outside of Africa, France and South America other than PSG and Monaco... once in a blue moon OM. Their model doesn't rely on transfers... it relies on developing raw talent.
This actually helps them tbh because they get more money on their sales.
That model in France is not changing anytime soon unless rich investors jump in.
Interestingly, a lot of very wealthy investors are watching carefully how PSG does in Ligue 1. If they are able to pull it off, then you could suddenly see clubs being bought out because, frankly, they don't cost a lot.
Do you realize that PSG paid 40 mil to buy out 70% of PSG in 2011? That was it. They already owned the other 30% That put the total value of PSG at around 57 mil euros.

Madrid just want to spend that much to say they did.
Because by no stretch of the imagination is Bale worth that much.

I can't help but feel it still wouldn't do Tottenham much since, you know, it's Tottenham. They would have a very healthy looking bank balance though...

Add to that if Spurs really want to acquire top talents with that money, they have to overpay like crazy.
45-50m for Lamela just for instance.

You know what Spurs should do with that money.....
Put it towards a new stadium..... their fans would never accept it though.

That would be a fairly smart move alright. If they could replace Bale with say Di Maria and then save the rest.

Re: Gareth Bale transfer saga
Best they just re-invest the money into a new stadium. Any player they would try to get, they'll just over pay for it. It's the side effect of everyone knowing you have money.
Unless Tottenham have the same model as Porto or Udinese...
