Serie A 13/14 CL Race
By the looks of it Juvi has the first CL spot (and maybe the league) locked down. This leaves only two positions for Napoli, Milan, Fiorentina, Inter and possibly Roma and Lazio. From these 6 teams Napoli and Fiorentina have considerably stronger squads so they are the two strongest candidates for the 2 CL spots, however both Inter and Milan cant be judged by their results from last season as Milans worst start since god knows when and Inter's meltdown are unlikely to be repeated next season. Both teams have slightly improved squads as well. Inter might be set for a spending spree if the club is sold before the start of the season and that could complicate things for their competition.
Roma, the ultimate underachievers, cant be written off as well, they have made a couple of good moves in the market and will probably spend that Marquinhos cash to strengthen their squad. If things clicked for Roma next season they can be the dark horse of this race. Finally Lazio might not be the fav to make it into the CL but they have kept their squad together and on their day they can cause major headaches for every team in the league.

Napoli
Inter/Milan (Depends on whether Inter is sold)

I think I could see Jube could finish 2nd place with Napoli or Fiorentina going in first tbh
Re: Serie A 13/14 CL Race
Milan with Penaltelli are a pretty safe bet to finish in CL places.

Re: Serie A 13/14 CL Race
Juve is still a cut above the rest
With Napoli, it depends if Benitez can transition the team from Mazzarri's old formation and shape them up well enough to contend
With Roma, it depends on how Garcia handles the team/fans and if his ideologies work with the squad
Lazio can also be a surprise this year, if they can retain Klose and keep him healthy throughout. They'll be a force to reckon with no doubt, i have a feeling Petkovic is gonna improve the squad than last year's
With Inter there are a lot of factors really, they had an absurd injury list last year, almost all of their starting XI were out. Don't forget that before they all got injured, they battled it out with Juve for that top spot. If they manage to keep everyone in shape and gel in the new signings then i can see them finish on a higher note than last year's
With Milan, we have addressed our disgusting midfield of last year by buying Andrea Poli, Riccardo Saponara and (soon) Keisuke Honda. Still the defense seems a bit dire with Mexespata, hoping that Vergara can explode or compete for a starting position. Yet, i think that other teams have vastly improved than us.

Re: Serie A 13/14 CL Race
Juventus will win the league easily.
Fiorentina and Napoli will be fun to watch. They've sort of put a lot of pressure on themselves to perform with the new signings, so hopefully their upper management aren't stupid. They'll take their time adapting to their respected managers. Although Fiorentina obviously have a head start with Montella already being there for a season.
Milan and Inter have the advantage being the underdogs I feel. Milan have a great attack, it's a pity their defence let's them down. They've stocked up in midfield now. Not too sure what's going on with Inter, but reading El Shaa's post above, it seem's as if they were plagued with a lot of injuries. (I mean, excuses coming from a rival fan. Must have some truth in there. )
Roma has made a few signings with the money funded by Marquinho and they've kept Lamela. If they can put some early consistent results, they can push on in the second half with momentum. Don't think they'll make it unfortunately, but they'll still be one of my favourite teams in Italy. I still have great memories of Batistuta and Totti. Which reminds me. If Totti is to retire, hopefully the players send him off in the best way possible.
Udinese will finish on top of Lazio I think. Di Natale's to continue to show his quality. Think he's dispelled the myth of him being underrated.
Serie A is definitely getting more competitive. Won't be long before Juventus' spot will have some pressure there. Exciting times for the Serie A.

Guidolin, Toto and Muriel to carry Udinese to CL spots
In reality, though, I predict Juve, Viola and Napoli for the top and one of them will win the title.

A top 3 without either Milanese club would look so strange, but it would be a good laugh tbh.

Also, we're extending our contract with the FIGC and the reffs will start the season firmly in our pocket.
Unlike two seasons ago when we got 1 penalty until the last few matchdays, they will be backing us from the get go

Last year there was no race for scudetto , Juventus won the league comfortably , Napoli was never a serious contender

Re: Serie A 13/14 CL Race
Tbf we had 1st place locked down by matchday 2 or something stupid after we went on a 7 game 100% start and never ever dropped back down
But the other 2 places were definitely race material, especially the 3rd place which was down the wire between Milan and Fio after other teams collapsed.

This thread is about the CL race though, not just the Scudetto

I actually don't i think he's a fine player but this forum uses him to put Cabaye down
Anyway i'm just being a realist.....
Penotelli will get penalties every game, Juve are miles better than the rest and Hamsik and Higuain will be Gerrard and Torres 2.0.

Can easily see Fiorentina totally ignore EL and totally focus on the league. Its extremely dismissive to say they wont be in the race for the CL spots.

well thats only 3 spot even though Napoli wasnt enough for Scudetto , they had their spot rather secured for seconed , it was only third up for grab for others

Re: Serie A 13/14 CL Race
Even though it's obviously more exciting to have a bunch of teams who are equally in with a good chance of getting the CL, it's actually bad for the league compared to having a definitive top 3 like in the PL (Top 4 of course)
That way every fkn team who gets in the Europa from Serie A wouldn't view it as an unpleasant obstacle on the way to a CL place, but a genuine torunament.

Brb Juve made most CL money last season
Brb Milan have about 1 DM
Brb Napoli not reliant on a player who has yet to kick a ball for them.

I wouldn't be so dismissive if i didn't see them heavily reliant on Gomez.
Rossi is overrated to start with and he's been injured for 2 years straight it would be a miracle if he performs well enough to get them top 3.
I give them about as much chance as i give Roma, with Napoli and Milan being heavy favourites for the final 2 spots as everyone knows Juve are walking it.

Yeah anything good i'm expecting from Rossi will be the season after this one
We've all seen how ACL type injuries *bleep* players up for an entire season. Well, he was just back to training when he went down with ANOTHER ACL
God knows what he's got left. It's a shame.
