Rebaño Sagrado wrote:Martinez isnt half the player at cb
Doesn't mean anything..... so is Mascherano but Pep still did that.
Buying a CB instead of trying to buy Javi to play CB would have made sense but Pep still tried to do it.
Problem with this thread is you guys are thinking rationally instead of how Pep will be thinking.

Re: #6 - Thiago Alcántara
But why limit a guy that can have such an impact in the mid just to play him as a cb where is just ok. I mean do you guys really think Pep will try and replicate Barca at Bayern? I just don't buy it.

Re: #6 - Thiago Alcántara
Martinez is Bayern's best DM though.
Busquets was Barca's best DM which meant Mascherano wouldn't play ahead of him. Plus Barca were desperate for a CB at times (injuries etc) so moving Mascherano there kinda made sense.

Re: #6 - Thiago Alcántara
My question would be why buy Thiago then?
He's not better in the pivot than Piggy or Javi and he's not a better AM than Kroos or Muller.
Also why ask for Gotze, sell Gomez and leave yourself with just Mandzukic if you are not going the false 9 route?
Also why mention Javi can play CB and give facts to back up your point?
I think its pretty clear what he's trying to do the noises are just too loud.

my opinion is that pep will continue with everything Yup was doing until it stops working. He will play with a CF,4-2-3-1 and no DM-CB mess. All, as i said, until something goes wrong

Pep will play with HIS philosphy. What's all this Barcelona talk. He will try and adapt the players to HIS own way. irrelevant what he did with Barcelona. Martinez can bring the ball out of the back better than any of their cbs bar Badstuber but he's injured. Martinez is a destroyer, Busquets was never a destroyer. Basti can play the pivot because he can read the game fantastically.

Pep is not Tito. Pep changes his ways instead of using the same old and copying others(himself).

From what I read, Pep has been using the same tactics as Jupp so far in preseason.I think that this is a hint he will not change for nowRealGunner wrote:Pep is not Tito. Pep changes his ways instead of using the same old and copying others(himself).

well when i say barca i obviously mean HIS barca. Why fix something thats not broken? Bayern just won the treble ffs and I know Pep will try and make Bayern his own but there is no need remake the midfield. Maybe adjust the forwards by adding Judas in there somehow, but right now Bayerns mid works perfectly.
ps I only type judas because i dont know how to spell his name...

That's what everyone said about Barcelona. He needs to change things in order for players to be on their toes and add his own touch. Plus he Juup was never an on hand coach, so tactically and the way they train with the ball will be much better. I expect them to be more fluid. Do less running and Attack space more.

Sergi Rorbeto will take Thiago's place in the squad. He isnt as talented but will be a great squad player for the future.

I doubt sergi "will do" for you guys. Xavi is finished Cesc doesn't play good that far down and Iniesta will need somebody to rotate with. I wonder whether your management know what the fck they are doing
so far you have bought a winger.....fair enough great buy but you still haven't bought a defender and by the time you do that you won't be able to buy anyone else. Alittle alarming I should say but it doesn't concern Madrid so
