Anzhi thought they could just easily and swiftly spend their way into the European limelight.Tomwin Lannister wrote:Well Gala spending half a billion euros per week on 40 year old mens wages despite making 20 quid per season does seem alarming
Anzhi :lol:Worst case of a mis-managed football club ever. They are a laughing stock

Re: UEFA Financial Fair Play
They can spend £50m + sales on transfer fees this summer while the wages can't increase. That doesn't sound too bad and apparently City were not planning on topping either of those anyway. Still good to see UEFA hand out these punishments.

Re: UEFA Financial Fair Play
So will City now pursue Shaw, Lallana, Barkley, etc or hold onto Richards and Barry to ensure they can field a 21-man squad that complies with the homegrown rule?

To be honest, this punishment is significantly harsher than I expected.

What garbage. Kick small working class clubs like Malaga and Rayo out of Europe all together where they don't even get to receive the benefits that European qualifications provide and just slap the wrists of these heavyweights. UEFA can go *bleep* themselves. Grinds my gears to a whole different level.

i think the punishment is more then enough, granted like what McAgger said they are not consistent which leads people to question their real motives.

Do you even know the issue with Malaga and Rayo. Pls stop if you're not familiar with the situation.
1st Rayo: RFEF denied them a UEFA license because they didn't meet the requirements as they were immersed in a creditor contest and being in administration. So the RFEF denied them not Uefa
2nd Malaga: PLAYERS WERE NOT BEING PAID, City has no debt and no issue financially except for this complying with this FFP BS.

No so they can have a system in place that works like it is supposed to. FFP as constructed does the opposite of what it is supposed to even do in some cases. Just tax teams that x dollars to the dollar over a spending number threshold and have it increase in severity the farther it goes over the threshold kind of like in the nba. That way teams like Malaga don't get punished for no reason and City will just pay fines like they apparently are going to now anyway

Ban from European competitions was never the only punishment planned for FFP, it was just the ultimate one that was most talked about among the media and fans.

Like Nasir said, different situations. The clubs who have been banned altogether are in such a bad shape financially that they're struggling to operate, late in their payments to either the players, the staff, tax authorities or other clubs. That's a lot worse than City, who obviously have no trouble meeting their financial obligations.

Isn't it ironic that those who spend beyond their means are punished with spending more money?

Liverpool are under no real threat. Both investment into youth and infrastructure and the projected revenues mean Liverpool are in the clear.B-Mac wrote:liverpool
