Tony Barrett of the Times says we haven't bid £42mil for Suarez.

I'm more inclined to believe him tbh.

If Wenger can bring Bernard to AFC, it is a massive coup,,, this kid is sheer class, even Carzola cant touch him. he is a winger with the end product and that's something we haven't seen I a while

that is about as solid a source as you can get for Liverpool (RO recommended it). Would be huge for Arsenal.

CaughtOffside understands that the Emirates Stadium side will offer £40m for the 26 year old Uruguayan, a portion of which will be tied into the amount of appearances he makes for the club but will not include a sell on clause.

Arsenal may not have offered £42mil for Suarez... they may have offered £38 + £4mil in add ons instead. See, ~~wishful~~positive thinking.

@robshepherd5 has said that Suarez is "off", as in leaving. I've no idea who he is, but his name has come up from some of the more respectable people I follow.

Any Liverpool fans know anything about that guy?

This deal just seems crazy to me. I still am not sure why Liverpool need to sell Suarez even if he wants to leave. He's got four years left on his contract.

Wouldn't it make more sense to keep him for another season or two at the very least and try to get top four then sell when they are in a better position to replace him?.... Maybe after the great season he had they want to get peak value for him? I dunno.. Just seems so odd to me. Weirder things have happened for sure though. But its just hard for me to imagine this happening.

maybe they are sick of the embarrassment he brings to the club? Racism, Biting....wouldn't doubt it having some influence on wanting to sell him now

If we go sell him to Arsenal, Liverpool fans in England will probably go to the streets against the board and FSG, I personally dont see the board sanctioning a deal to Arsenal, They are not that foolish, But you never know.

Madrid doesn't want Suarez as far as i know. They want Bale. They are willing to spend 60m+ on him. Can't see them paying 40m for Suarez this window and pay 60m+ for Bale the next.

Despite it's the great real madrid. They don't have the cash.

IT's going to be a big slap to the face for the fans if the club sells Luis to a direct rival for the 4th spot after all the talk of finally being ready to challenge.

The situation is just too complicated. I just want it resolved one way or the other so we can get our targets in and not make another stupid rash decision on deadline day.

I'd love De Rossi but Roma would have to be completely mental to trade him for cash plus Gervinho when they haven't got a pressing need to sell the player.

We certainly know how the feels after the Nasri and van Persie debalces. You first think that there's no way the board will sell to a team in the same league, but sometimes the player just leaves you with no other choice. Ultimately, I think most boards won't care who they sell to so long as they get a good amount for whoever they're selling.
