Well, there is always a long way between a club being interested in a player and a club signing a player. VW seem to be willing to fund such a transfer, though, which I found interesting.

Remember that it's more important to be able to keep the ball away form the opponent than to be a great defender for Pep... Gustavo doesn't have enough technique. Not even close. They're going to rely on pressing to get the ball back and the individual talents of Lahm, Javi, Dante and Alaba in case people get through.

Yes and Gustavo does exactly that plus can also defend. In fact, I think he had the highest pass success rate in Bundesliga last season.

They ain't that similar imo, aside from nationality and skin colour. Ramires as much as I love his efforts doesn't quite have the defensive ability of Gustavo.

Fellaini is a bloody overrated scrub CM/DM, he was used as a battering ram SS essentially last year and definitely won't be used as that in this team with Kagawa and RVP he will be a CM and be bloody useless.
