2013/2014 Starting XI, formations and squad thread.
Basically, I think it's a good idea to discuss how you think/want to see us line up next season and what our other options are in event of an injury or our tactics not working out at times.
You can use players we don't yet have, but try to use ones we're being linked with.
I'm not sure if we'll sell Marchisio or not, I doubt it but you never know.
Vucinic is most likely going to be sold. For a good sum of money.
I think our starting XI will look something like this
-------------------------------------------Buffon--------------------------------------------
--------------Andrea B------------------Bonucci----------------------Chiellini-------------
Lichtsteiner--------------Vidal-----------Pirlo-----------Pogba/Marchisio----------Asamoah
------------------------------------Llorente-------------------Jovetic/Tev--------------------
I imagine the starting XI will be the same as most peoples here, with perhaps a different LWB.
Now this is where it gets interesting and more diverse.
Let's say our 3-5-2 is struggling, it's half time and we need to turn the game around.
Personally I would like to see one of
-------------------------------------------Buffon------------------------------------------------
---------------Andrea B------------------Bonucci-----------------------Chiellini--------------
Licht-------------------------Vidal-----------------------Pogba---------------------Asamoah
-----------------------------Carlos Tev--------------------Jovetic--------------------------
-------------------------------------------Llorente--------------------------------------------
Giovinco could be good as a Left or right forward, playing off of Llorente. It's probably best to have Vidal AND Pogba in a 3-4-2-1, for the defensive qualities they posess.
Giac has proven himself in a similar role for the National team.
Another alternative could be
-----------------------------------------Buffon----------------------------------------------
Lichtsteiner--------------Bar-----------------------------Chiellini-----------------Ogbonna
------------------Vidal-------------------Pogba------------------------Marchisio----------
Diamanti-------------------------------Llorente----------------------Jovetic----------------
A change to 4-3-3 at some point during a match could be effective. Bayern exploited us in the 2v1 situation on the flanks, a 4-3-3 would give us much more defensive reassurance in such an event, Ogbonna can play there, and he would be able to cope with long periods of defending.
Our B team.
------------------------------------------Buffon/Leali/Rubinho-----------------------------------------
----------------Caceres---------------------Marrone------------------------Ogbonna-----------------
Pepe-----------Padoin----------------------Giac---------------------------Pogba-------------PDC/Kolarov
------------------------------------Matri--------------------Giovinco/Diamanti------------------------
If you ask me, that's a damn fine B team.

I would like us to look something like this when it comes to the full squad. The starting XI really depends on who has the best chemistry together up front and depending on how well Llorente and Tevez do, with the rest of the team being the same from last season with maybe Giaccherini fighting Asamoah for the LW spot.
GK: Buffon, Leali, Rubinho.
DEF: Chiellini, Bonucci, Barzagli, Lichsteiner, Caceres, Kolarov, Ogbonna, Masi.
MID: Marchisio, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Marrone, Giaccherini, Asamoah, Pepe.
FW: Vucinic, Tevez, Jovetic, Llorente, Giovinco.
GK: Buffon, Leali, Rubinho.
DEF: Chiellini, Bonucci, Barzagli, Lichsteiner, Caceres, Kolarov, Ogbonna, Masi.
MID: Marchisio, Vidal, Pirlo, Pogba, Marrone, Giaccherini, Asamoah, Pepe.
FW: Vucinic, Tevez, Jovetic, Llorente, Giovinco.

Great squad juventus101, although you are missing 2 people (whether u like it or not)
Its Peluso and Padoin, otherwise i see your team great!
Also, i believe Vucinic will go in order to get funds for Jovetic move.

Yeah, great squad juve101. It is very competitive. I dont know when in the season we will have a stable formation.
Would love to see Ale back with the #10 as vice pirlo in 2 years <3, as others said in the previous
@tom: If Diamanti comes and jojo doesn't, ima kill myself!
I higjly doubt it that jojo is coming after crazy head marrota said it publicly that their relationship with la viola is not well

I would love if we switch back to 442 by bringing a world class winger,
--------- Tevez -- Lorente ------
Asamoah ---------------- new winger
----------- Pirlo - Vidal ----------
Cheillini ------------------- Linchstainer
-------- Bonuci --- Barzagli -----

Re: 2013/2014 Starting XI, formations and squad thread.
My ideal squad although far from happening:
GK: Buffon (Leali, Storari)
CB: Barzagli (Caceres) - Bonucci (Marrone) - Chiellini (Ogbonna*)
RWB: Lichtsteiner (Pepe)
LWB: Isla (Giaccherini)
CMF: Vidal (Pogba) - Pirlo (Banega*) - Marchisio (Asamoah)
SS: Tevez (Giovinco)
CF: Llorente (Vucinic)
A small, flexible roster able to play every formation with less scrubs and more talent (Yes Peluso, Padoin and De Ceglie I mean you).
Cash in on Mota, Ziegler, Melo, Martinez, De Ceglie, Peluso, Padoin, Quagliarella and Matri. Also Ever Banega would be a perfect vice Pirlo in my opinon and Isla should not leave, show the guy some faith and he will shine.

4-3-3 will be the best choice after Tevez and Llorente purchases.
Buffon
Lichtsteiner - Barzagli - Chiellini - Kolarov
Vidal - Pirlo - Marchisio
Lamela/Jovetic - Llorente - Tevez

Re: 2013/2014 Starting XI, formations and squad thread.
Tom I think you should be realistic and use players that are currently on our team not possible ones i.e. Jovetic
Re: 2013/2014 Starting XI, formations and squad thread.
Jovetic is within our reach
25M combined from Vucinic and Giac seem likely, it's hard to think we'd refuse to add 5M to that and buy a player who has openly stated he wants to come to us, and a player we also want.

I don't see it happening Della Valle was clear about 30 mil straight up cash
Re: 2013/2014 Starting XI, formations and squad thread.
Vucinic 15M offer
Giach 10M offer.

I agree with Tom. That's why Juve has suddenly become so interested in offers for Giacch and Vucinic. We have tried the player exchange deals and now we see that ADV is serious about cash only. Now, Marotta is making deals to get the cash to buy him. I think it's going to happen.

Re: 2013/2014 Starting XI, formations and squad thread.
I found this on a website, it seems so realistic given that Conte started putting MArch as a SS end of last season But, I think that one of Barz and Bonbon will be rested as we will buy Ogb to fill the LB spot and Chiello will move to the center.
EditL Llorente could alternate with Matri, March with Jojo (if he comes), Vuci with Gio
Bye bye Etta Betta
