Now that the window is officially closed, overall, although I'm certainly happy about the players the club were able to bring in, the fact is, what we indisputably needed most this summer was a top-notch DM, and a proven, world class center-forward. We signed neither.



In that respect, this window has to be considered a failure.

Now, the DM issue may or may not turn out to be a huge problem, and there's every chance Eto'o could turn out to be a brilliant short-term layover option and could well bang in 20 or 25+ this season, so whether or not we'll be regretting these things come season's end, we'll see.

I am content with the window, I like you, am disappointed by the lack of DM and feel losing Lukaku was the wrong thing to do but it could have gone much worse.
