Well getting somebody like DDR won't hinder the development of younger players coming through, Khedira would.

I'm all for more youth players coming through as all here will know but the day we start sacrificing making first-team signings we need (not that I'm saying Khedira in particular necessarily is that) for the sake of teenagers is the day we may as well wheel up the white flag to all of our rivals.


I don't recall United caring too much about Cleverly, Powell, etc. when they were making huge bids for Thiago, Fabregas, etc.

I don't agree. They are different players but I would rather see Mikel or Ramires hit form than watch us spend 20m on a player who won't improve the overall team.
