Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
I actually hope that isn't true. Any potential move for Rooney would likely take a long time with the amount of money involved and there's the possibility of another club coming in for Higuain during that time. Arsenal would be playing a very risky game where one of the likely outcomes is that they get neither player.
At this point, I wouldn't want us to take any chances.

100% agree lads. Must get Higuain done, then Fellaini done. Then can focus on other areas or whether to add another forward, not forgetting that Sanogo is already coming of course.
Just GET IT DONE

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
How reliable is this journalist? Wonder if there isn't a bit of opportunism to explain the "delay" (which is really only a big delay by the standards of the Twitter Age) in getting Higuain ... but I don't knkow for sure.
Would just hope to see Gonzalo signed up so he can acclimate to the team and start banging in goals asap. Rooney would be a great acquisition in his own right but, as people have pointed out, some baggage trying to go down that road at this point...

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
I'm more inclined to go with @bbcsport_david's news a couple of weeks back that said that Higuain was our number one target over a random journalist's claim that we have another option that we favour over him.
It really wouldn't make sense for Arsenal to delay signing Higuain because they have another option. In my mind, Arsenal have always focused on one target at a time and if they couldn't sign that target, they'd move onto another one. I doubt we'd get to such an advanced stage in the Higuain deal if we thought we had a realistic chance of signing Rooney.
I can't help but feel anxious that we'd do something risky or stupid, though.

What can we even really expect from Sanogo next season? Will he give us much game time at all ?

I will not be surprised if he gets the late loan this summer or winter depends on injury situation and whether or not we could land another striker beside our supposed Higgy/Shrek/Jojo.

Jenko is massively overrated. Sagna is 10x the player lol.
Sagna's problem is he's the one carrying the ball up out on the right instead of making overlapping runs because of Theo's unwillingness to get involved in the build up.
He averages only 16 passes p/g which is absurdly low for a striker let alone a winger.
If you had an Alaba, Marcelo, Lahm, Alves it wouldn't be that much of a problem but unfortunately for Sagna he isn't as gifted as those fullbacks offensively.

Fellaini now 9/20 to join Arsenal (Bwin).
Can someone poke Gazidis with a stick and tell him to get on with business?

Well, if this was from Caughtoffside I wouldn't care.
However, if it's from 'The Times' it does worry me a bit.

Dickie and Ivan need to get their hands off their bell-ends and sort some shit out.

EXCLUSIVE:
- Spoiler:
EXCLUSIVE: ARSENAL'S ROONEY DREAM
ARSENAL have put together a package they hope can convince Wayne Rooney to join them from Manchester United.
Rooney is set to meet new United boss David Moyes to discuss his future as soon as possible after the Scot officially starts work on Monday.
But the Gunners are convinced they have a realistic chance of persuading the England striker to join their revolution.
The Emirates hierarchy feel they need to start joining the big boys when it comes to transfers, especially if they want to persuade boss Arsene Wenger to sign an extension, with his contract ending next summer and Paris St-Germain interested in his services.
It’s understood Wenger and Arsenal would like to see a dream partnership of Real Madrid’s Gonzalo Higuain as a central striker with Rooney playing behind him.
And Higuain’s brother, Nicolas, admitted yesterday an Arsenal deal, cost close to being completed for the 25-year-old.
“I cannot deny that Gonzalo is now close to Arsenal,” he said.
Barcelona, PSG and Monaco have been linked with Rooney, but Arsenal feel they can also sway the 27-year-old with the fact he would be playing with England team-mates Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere.
Rooney would command wages of more than £200,000 a week, but the Gunners seem to be ready to make that huge step.
Meanwhile, United are closing in on an £18m deal for Benfica’s Ezequiel Garay.
The two clubs have held extensive talks, with United understood to have first refusal on the 26-year-old defender, who spent last week viewing houses in the North West.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
From RedArmy (Another Internet Bullshit Artist) Reliability percentage = 50-60%
AW has been personally calling Kondogbia since February in a bid to bring him to Arsenal. He has offers from Madrid and Chelsea, However Kondogbia has set his heart on Arsenal, he has told his advisors that is the only place he wants to go. Sevilla are in a similar situation to Malaga last year so AW thinks he can do what he did with Cazorla and wait them out. AW is confident of getting his man, therefore feels like there's no rush.
I relayed this with Laurens Julien(lol) who also told me Jorge Mendes is overlooking any deal and that AW should be weary of his pulling power. Mendes could cause problems in negotiations as he pushes for a better package, however the player is on AW side.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Problem with that is that Sevilla don't decide where Kondogbia goes, as he's owned by the Doyen Group and not Sevilla. Currently, the Doyen Group feel it's best for Kondogbia to stay at Sevilla as they feel they can increase his valuation and sell him for more next summer. Kondogbia himself is happy to stay at Sevilla for another season.

Yea what i read earlier too. It's probably best for Kondogbia himself since he is too raw to move anywhere atm.

Re: The Official Summer Transfer Rumours Thread
Also worth pointing out that Sevilla's situation isn't like Malaga's last summer. The £15mil received from the Navas deal has taken them out of any immediate financial peril and they'll eventually get a similar amount for Negredo. So even if they had the choice, there'd be little pressure on Sevilla to sell Kondogbia.
