Good to hear Eman. Currently rewatching An Unexpected Journey right now to get up that hype factor as I'll be going to see Desolation of Smaug tomorrow.

Shaking my head yes in agreement as you talk about things being dragged on in An Unexpected Journey, watching it right now...that's certainly the case in (too) many parts.

I can think of when Gandalf and all those dwarves came to Bilbo's house that night to tell him they need him. That lasted like a good 20+ minutes I believe.

Enjoying a 2012 film called "Compliance", which is based on a true story about a prank call. Don't read about it if you don't want to be hit with spoilers. If you like thrillers, watch it.

89% rating on RT: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/compliance_2012/

Saving Mr. Banks was actually quite good, but oddly I thought the weak link of the movie was Hanks as Walt. Did an okay job, but compared to the rest of the cast he was just meh.

A Disney movie was never going to allow Hanks to portray Walt Disney as anything other than a perfectly nice gentleman with no major character flaws.

Social Network was a boring movie. Couldn't really get into without a break every 10-20 minutes. Lack of action.

If you are a fan of Goodfellas you are absolutely going to love The Wolf of Wall Street. Best Scorsese/DiCaprio pairing of all time.

I can't take credit for comparing it to Goodfellas, a friend of mine made that reference and I found it an apt description, but yeah we went to the premier tonight and it was glorious.

The Social Network was a great movie.

Agree wholeheartedly with Eman on Desolation of Smaug. Definitely a step up from An Unexpected Journey. I'd give it an 8/10 as well. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I wouldn't say either Hobbit movie so far compares to the original LOTR trilogy, but it would have been unfair to expect that, wouldn't it have been? Good movies in their own right though.

Really looking forward to TWOWS, isn't out here for a few weeks IIRC. Annoying. Glad to hear you enjoyed it. I'll be watching Anchorman 2 over XMAS, I think. Loved the first.
