That was a brilliant Cosmic Marvel Event, as were (most of) the stories and events that followed. Too bad it's been entirely disregarded so that Loeb can write in an analogue of his son as the new Nova and completely change the story of the Guardians of the Galaxy and character of Star Lord (Peter Quill).

Perhaps in that particular version of the story you are correct, but historically you are wrong.

A little let down by Man of Steel, was so excited to see it that when i was watching it wasn't as exciting
i have to say it's because they hyped it a little too much before they released the movie, with too many trailers, sneak previews etc

Too much focus on the plot which was basically all fighting and war and way too little focus on building Superman's character. That beginning Krypton-falling-apart scene took around 40 minutes but could've been done in 5 minutes.
Every movie that's come out this summer (that I've seen) has been a huge let down.

Fast & furious 6
Awsome movie, very entertaining. Racing scenes were superb. Some scenes were so good that they has me holding my breath. Also the credits scene made me cheering. The FF franchise just gets bigger and better. This is a must watch.

Have you guys seen the trailer for 300's sequel?
I loved the original but I've got doubts about this one. Feels like they're just trying to milk money off the first movie

3&4?
I didn't even know they announced a 2nd one.
The first one was really good in my opinion.
But Nolan's semi-realistic Batman, with Joker & Bane & Liam Neeson was the pinnacle of comic book movies for me.

I wish people would stop calling Nolan's Batman trilogy "comic book movies" when the man himself was so dead set on stating that they were not...
They were crime thrillers/actions movies with comic book characters in them, that's it.

At the end of the day it was based on Batman and his enemies.
No it wasn't comic book-ish but it was Batman, and there's nothing wrong with calling it a comic book movie.
Batman and everybody in the movie came from comic books, it's a comic book movie to me.

Re: The Movie House - Part 3
When the director himself repeatedly states that he's not making comic book movies then there really is a bit of a problem with labeling them as such. It does an injustice to the director, his movies, and to actual comic book movies.

Re: The Movie House - Part 3
They are movies that are heavily involved with comic book characters. So for short, comic book movies.
Nolan just wanted his films to be taken seriously, and not compared to the likes of the avengers.
Different themes, but i'll never accept it isn't a comic book movie when it's got Batman, a batmobile, the Joker, Bane etc etc.
It's far too related to comic books to be dismissed.

Kinda proves my previous point... dismissing other movies and disrespecting them.
And the character names might have been the same, but the characters themselves were not the comic book characters.

Re: The Movie House - Part 3
Actually, there were quite a lot of similarities between the comic book characters and the ones in Nolans trilogy. One of the major ones being Jokers 'scar stories' which were big part of the TDK and they were taken from the comic books.
Bane had a strange accent for a reason, something to do with his comic book self although I can't remember specifically. In the comic books he was also an intelligent, cunning man. However in the last, more 'comic like' movies, Bane was a big junkie grunting about in a mexican luchador mask.
It was a very serious, gritty trilogy. But there were plenty of Comic book similarities. Just less over the top action, and a more believable explination for events that take place.

Yea... that's all super except that most of it's either A) untrue, B) a serious stretch, or C) only true of the comics AFTER the movies came out in an attempt to capitalize on their popularity.

Re: The Movie House - Part 3
Nope, do some research if you really want to.
I have no need to make it up, I don't even know if any comics have came out post-TDK trilogy.
You're saying it's not a comic book movie because it's taking the characters and making them completely different. That's simply not true.
"Though many have been related, a definitive back-story has never been established for the Joker in the comics, and his real name has never been confirmed. He himself is confused as to what actually happened; as he says in The Killing Joke, "Sometimes I remember it one way, sometimes another... if I'm going to have a past, I prefer it to be multiple choice."
Joker comic quote. The scar stories are a reference to that, and he has some in the comics too.
Can't be bothered finding the other examples at this moment in time.

Re: The Movie House - Part 3
I just finished watching "Brothers" featuring Tobey Maguire, Jake Gylenhaal, Natalie Portman.
It's been done for half hour, but I'm still glued to my seat thinking what choice I'd make in Tobey's position in Afghanistan. It's unbelievable. It's difficult, and something I don't even want to think about. I don't want to spoil the movie, so I won't explain more.
I'd give the movie 8/10. Great topic, fantastic acting by all. and Natalie Portman is beautiful.
