PS3 exclusives, what should i buy?

I know about God of War, Uncharted 1-3, Infamous 1-2 and MGS 4 but is there anything else i should be getting

Was about to list them tbh

here's my list i've compiled after searching around (buying a ps3 tomorrow/sat)

Pretty sure it was voted PS3 game of the year last year by a bunch of sites

I'm on the look out for other good exclusives though

I also think you'd enjoy Resistance 1 & 2 (haven't had the chance to play 3 yet).

I was thinking of Resistance, what is the single player like? because at this point in the life cycle of the game i doubt the MP will be exactly popular.

Personally never liked resistance, but a fair few people do.

And yeah, the online will be either completely gone of consist of a few hundred people, most of which use cheats.

The story for Resistance is solid, though not exactly inspired or mind-blowing. The gameplay is fairly standard for an FPS. Some parts can be a bit (or very, depending on skill level) frustrating when you face hordes or waves of enemies with little support. The weapons are fairly unique and interesting though and provide a good way of differentiating play so that it doesn't get monotonous.

Not sure what it was about resistance I didn't like.

I think it felt a bit like an old Medal of Honour game with aliens instead of humans. Loved they games, but it just didn't feel 'next-gen' to me.


Not a bad game, just didn't keep me hooked like so many others did e.g. Uncharted.

Heavy Rain was quite good too.

Oh yeah Heavy Rain is a very entertaining game. Forgot it was an exclusive though.

Have you played Journey? If not then definitely give it a try

The exclusive library was a bit lacking from Sony this generation. Most of the games that were great also aren't worth getting at this point because their online communities are dead or got bested by a sequel or similar game soon after.

I loved the resistance games and Killzone 2 when they came out but no one plays them anymore so don't bother. My favorite was Warkhawk but thats even worse in terms of how dead the community is now, which is a shame because it was the best PS3 multiplayer experience by a long shot back in 08-09. I don't think twisted metal ever worked. Little Big Planet 2 still has a pretty good community but the gameplay is terrible for a platformer.

If you are more of a fan of western type games then theres not much worth revisiting other than maybe uncharted 2 and Infamous 1. But I'm more of a Japanese gaming fan, and my favorites for the PS3 were

Valkria Chronicles- Pretty much the best SRPG of this past generation and its not even close. The gameplay, graphics and artstlye, are unmatched in the genre. Everything about this game is just absolutely amazing

Yakuza 3 and 4- Kind of like an Actiony shenmue with more content but not as much polish. Very addictive battle system. Its kind of like Kingdom Hearts + Shenmue + the Godfather

Ni No Kuni- The best JRPG of the past generation. It gets everything right that my favorite genre has been getting wrong ever since the PS2 days.

Demons Souls- Not as similar to Dark Souls as some might think. Its a bit more unforgiving but in cheap ways sometimes. Still an awesome game but you have to have patients, people think Dark Souls is hard but it really has nothing on this game.

Disgea 4: A Promise Unforgotten- Really really awesome game. Its a the polar opposite of Valkyria Chronicles in the SRPG genre but in a good way. Its the easiest to get into of the series and the most enjoyable if you never played one before. Or even if you have.

Folklore- The first PS3 game I really loved. Its not for everbody though. Its slowpaced with a story thats hit or miss for people, same with the combat. But I really enjoyed it.

Catherine- Its not exclusive but it might as well be. The game is unplayable with the 360 Dpad. Its one of the most unique and interesting games of all time. If you look up gameplay videos of it im sure youll laugh but trust me, the game is enthralling from start to finish.

3D Dot Game Heroes- A shameless knockoff of Zelda but a really great one. If you played the original LoZ thats basically what this game is but with a almost minecraft like visual style in HD

The new Sly cooper was pretty awesome as well, and its only 40$

They also made that Smash Bros clone, which might be fun but I haven't even bothered to play it.

One of the best games I've ever played. Mole, get this game, you won't be dissappointed.

Also...Journey too. Breathtaking atmospheric game. Very unique game and experience.

Never liked Little Big Planet type games, but it's realy high rated. Don't waste your time on Gran Turismo, Forza>>>>>>>>

I advise you from the list to get God Of War III, especially if you played the first two in PS2 along with MGS4 and Uncharted 2. After you are done with them you can start on inFamous. Heavy Rain first check out some videos or something, it's a very different game, personally felt it was brilliant. Same with Journey. Killzone 3 and Resistance 3 you can get as shooters. The first Resistance especially will feel extremely backdated now. No point playing Demon Souls if you played Dark Souls. I know you already have The Last Of Us, you can try out some HD packs of PS2 classics you missed like ICO, God Of War, MGS etc.

I probably won't bother with Killzone/Resistance because i'm not that interested in the Single players and the MP will most likely be dead.

Demon Souls too as those games don't interest me.

I'll probably get the rest in your list M99 though and BTW GOW: Ascension worth it ? i heard it was pretty disappointing.

It was ok. GOW 3 was amazing though

That is basically the jist i got, reading various reviews.... i won't bother with that then.

Finding time to play them will be difficult though, everytime i get on i'm playing The Last of Us MP

Gears single player is awesome well 1-3 anyway.

Nah I know that but when I was talking about GoW I was talking about God of War.

Which can't be compared unlike Resistance and gears.

I am of course referring to the other console-exclusive shooter that Mole is familiar with.
