Watched the first 3 episodes. Then suddenly it just stopped showing on tv. I later learned that season 1 only had like 3 episodes. And I just never caught up with it again.
Loved those 3 episodes though. :DBenedict Cumberbatch

it's not a mini series, each episode is 90 mins long so technically thats 3 30 mins episodes in one. and now there are 3 series each with 3 episodes and 90 mins each

Uncle Phil was the shit!

Btw RG, that Intelligence series you posted about sounds fairly similar of what I've heard about Almost Human, no?

RIP James Avery aka Uncle Phil. Very tragic news.

As for Intelligence, it's very different from Almost Human, since the latter is futuristic and deals with Androids while Intelligence is more contemporary, but just deals with an enhanced human.

Also, Almost Human is mostly action oriented and the description of that new show starts off with 'a drama'. I'm assuming it'll have a completely different feel to it.

I actually think TWD is garbage btw. I really liked episode 1 and 2 but then it just got stale. The final episode of the first season really made me give up watching it. Absolutely horrible in a lot of ways.

Started with Justified yesterday because it was mentioned here and I wanted to check out a new show. Have seen two episodes now and it's pretty nice. Hope it'll grow on me.

Supernatural is average. Watched 9 season of it and no part of that show had me waiting for the next episode.

Its 5 or 6 episode of killing randoms ghosts in randoms towns and then 2 episode of actual story line...how any one can really even rate it over the actual script based show like Breaking Bad is beyond me.

PS-TWD sucks too for me..watched it for only 2 seasons though.

Sherlock Holmes is good but not out standing. Its worth a watch especially for the suspense and they dont really drag the story for the sake of increasing number of episodes which is a big positive .

Almost Human is essentially a sci-fi police procedural. Some parts "I, Robot" and other parts (fill in generic police procedural here).

This show is interesting more for the characters (Michael Ealy, Karl Urban, Minka Kelly and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) than for the plots, which are all rather unoriginal.

Continuum is a similar show to this, but ultimately superior because of how there's a central plot that the other sub plots revolve around. There doesn't appear to be that with Almost Human, which is a shame.

I rate it higher because it entertains me, Dean and Sam are some of the greatest characters, they feel like family to me to be honest. Breaking Bad is so overrated in my opinion, didn't find it entertaining, and the plot really isn't that innovative. It's basically just a darker version of Weeds that looks better.

For me Supernatural is a really really entertaining show. It's always fresh and they don't repeat the same jokes or anything. It's probably going to end next season but I hope it carries on for few more years.

I agree mostly with what you said, though I do think we have seen too little of this show to make real conclusions about its 'unoriginal' plots. I'm holding my fingers crossed for something of a central plot. Perhaps in vain, but Fringe is an example of a show that was also sort of procedural but evolved into something more than that. If it remains what it is, which does seem likely, I will surely drop it. It would've been great if Continuum had better actors/characters.

Supernatural is one of those shows I really like. Dean is awesome. Crowly is awesome. Bobby was awesome. This last season hasn't been great but I still thoroughly enjoy it.

Thing with supernatural is it has no definite story line...they rag the story line for increasing episodes ,most episodes doesnt have anything to do with the long term story line and no body can convince me that it requires 10 * 25 episodes to say that story. The entire 9 seasons can be shrink down to 5 season..Mike,Dean are great? yeah they are but its clearly not enough since the script work sucks balls.

The show pretty much uses season based storylines. Every season they face a certain debacle which they try to overcome. Granted, probably 1/3rd to sometimes even a half of a season can be categorized as filler/character development. There are lots of shows that use this approach and as long as the amount of fillers isn't ridiculous, I'm personally ok with it. Especially since most of the fillers are simply fun to watch and in essence that is what the show is to me anyway: (somewhat shalow) entertainment. Great characters, fun dialog, ok storylines and nicely made supernatural beings and CGI make it great.

For me the best shows does not need filler episodes. Those shows actually have a definite script and the director will think more about conveying the story to the audience than increasing the episodes.

Breaking bad couldve easily gone 7 or 8 seasons but they strictly followed the script so that it didnt get ruined. Filler episodes also ruins the flow of the show..which is why GOT,BB,The Wire etc concentrated on quality of the episodes rather than number of it.To me, Filler episodes are for poverty shows who are just desperate.

the "filler" episodes in Supernatural are quite often better than the ones that move the plot of the seasons story along, IMO. I love them and wish they'd do them more often. Quite often they seem like stand alone episodes but the characters and plots will appear in other seasons too. Supernatural is the perfect show for me. So fun.

I think it depends on how filler episodes are done, because they can often be used to great effect in terms of introducing fringe characters or advancing small but important storylines.

However, for the most part I agree that I'd rather a show get in, tell a story, and then move on.

I could care less that a show has been on for 100 seasons. I think when a show worries more about staying on the air in order to cash a check the show loses something (case in point Sons of Anarchy or my favorite show of all time The West Wing in what became its last season).

Definitely liking Person of Interest.

I'm halfway through Season 2 already. Caviezel and Emerson are perfect foils for each other's character. Been a fan of Taraji Henson since her star-making turn in Hustle & Flow. She was also really good in Baby Boy as well. Good actress.

The whole premise is just fascinating as well. A good show that also has some good recurring characters as well.
