Re: The Official Final Fantasy thread
you need the airship to get to a certain area post game but yeah that's a valid issue besides that
and yes Altissia was the biggest disappointment in the game for me
visually amazing..thought I was going to be getting a ton of new quests and lots to explore and it was far from that

The last few chapters of the game, was the biggest disappointment for me. I don't really mind that it's an on-rails experience, but the experience itself is just underwhelming.
- Spoiler:
- I'm sure they thought stripping you of your weapons and replacing them with a magic ring would make things interesting, but it was just boringly frustrating.
Would've loved to see what the game would have looked like, had Nomura seen it through to the end.

I mean it seemed like Nomura had a lot of good ideas and groundwork but the game is a mess because he couldn't see it through from what I've read
development was a shambles with him in charge

Probably because he's, by far, their most talented and experienced director, and they had him working in different areas on multiple projects simultaneously. Even after leaving FF XV, he's still working on Kingdom Hearts and the Final Fantasy 7 remake. He's probably doing artwork for other projects, as well. Japan and their work culture

Re: The Official Final Fantasy thread
Nomura is a mess. In no way one of final fantasy better directors. They gave him his first FF to direct (XV) and he didn't get it done.
The games he directed before (Kingdom hearts) end up super cool but way, way too messy. Following KH story is harder than understanding Pep nowadays
He should stick to character/graphics designer where he has always been great.

Agreed
I am pretty sure we would have got some of those badass cinematic scenes that final fantasy is known for atleast...but this game you end up going through it underwhelmed.
A fantasy based on misleading cinematics.

Re: The Official Final Fantasy thread
Any of you guys completed the "hidden" Pitioss dungeon? I completed it without following a guide, and it was by far the most frustrating part of the game. The puzzles are brilliantly designed, though. I almost gave up a few times, because the controls are rather unresponsive and clunky for this type of gameplay. Dying and having to start over from way back, also made me want to quit a few times. Pulled through in the end

Looks pretty good. Not sure what type of combat system is that though

Re: The Official Final Fantasy thread
Judging by those screenshots, it still looks early stages. I am going to guess late 2018 or 2019

Re: The Official Final Fantasy thread
I doubt I'm ever gonna return to the game but apparently the first real DLC is actually pretty fun
might pick up a GOTY edition with all DLC eventually
the trailer basically spoils the entire thing but it's about where Gladiolus disappeared to for a while during the story and features Cor Leonis

I heard it was $5. Definitely getting it. Gladio+Cor vs Gilgamesh and the epicness of Clash on the Big Bridge!

Re: The Official Final Fantasy thread
Bought the version that came with a season pass
Looking forward to playing the parts of this game that, hopefully, aren't unfinished and rushed out for release

Re: The Official Final Fantasy thread
So there is an update planned for this month that includes enhancements to chapter 13. So before, obviously, it was just Noctis by himself, kind of alone without the powers of his weapon summoning abilities. But what we’ve done for chapter 13, is we’ve added a separate route for Gladio and Ignis after they get split off from Noctis, so you actually get to play as Gladio, and see what happened from their side of things until they reunited with Noctis. You’ll see some additional cutscenes [that] just show you what took place while Noctis was kind of on his own. You’ll get some actual gameplay with the party of Gladio and Ignis together. You’ll see what happened to Emperor Aldercapt and Revis, and where they ended up being during the whole time. These are just the supplementary scenes that were added into chapter 13, and that’s just for chapter 13. But aside from that, we’re overhauling the ring magic, so the three spells that you could use with the Ring of the Lucii, those are completely powerful now, like super powerful now. So those are some other things to look forward to.
lmaooo, we were basically beta testers
these pos's

Re: The Official Final Fantasy thread
watched someone playing through episode gladiolus, only about an hour long which is why it's so cheap, but actually is pretty cool
they also added the new gameplay and cutscenes with ravus and the emperor to chapter 13 but it still looks meh

I'll probably get it today if I have time, if not then this week for sure. I just beat Nioh a few days ago.

Re: The Official Final Fantasy thread
Loved that game. I honestly did think it would be so good when I bought it (I hadn't watched any reviews or trailers, I just heard you hype and then checked it out and bought it), what a great surprise.
I liked it more than DS2 for sure and maybe more than DS1. It was like the perfect combination Souls and Onimusha.
I don't know about a favorite boss, most of the human sized ones were great. The duel against Tachibana might be my favorite, that one or the giant ninja frog. The flying samurai with the dual swords was great too, same for Mitsunari.
Really liked the ending, it felt very satisfying. It was good to beat that last mission in Japan and watch the cutscene after all the shit William went through in the game. Then the setup after The Queen's Eyes got me hyped for DLC.
Btw they patched game and changed a LOT of the balance, my character became OP all of a sudden at one point at the end of the game, while they nerfed a lot of other builds. There are also a few extra missions in the postgame that are the hardest in the game, its these arenas against a shit ton of enemies and then you end up fighting two bosses together.

Get Bloodborne if you like Souls/Nioh. You should get the GOTY edition for cheap online.
