Re: Witcher 3
I just picked this game up. Never played a Witcher a game before(I know, I know), but this is a separate story from the first two right?

Yeah, you don't get to do that side mission otherwise.

It carries it on, but quite frankly for the most part it does a good job of explaining it all from the outset. You shouldn't feel completely lost and should get to grips with it all pretty quickly.

Re: Witcher 3
Also when i say it carries over, it kinda does and it kinda doesn't.
The story they try to tell is completely irrelevant from the previous games but if you actually played the previous ones it follows up on things that happened.
But at the same time you don't really feel like your missing something or is it confusing.

Re: Witcher 3
I'm one level below so the advice might not actually translate....
But all i did was constantly set him on fire once i got him grounded was constantly move around him ( getting behind as much as possible) and roll when he attacks, which is quite predictable as his attacks are quite slow.
Also what level is your mate at? i made sure i basically did every random event and sidequest and defeated every single thing before i started it
Also is he using the glossary? it states each monsters strengths and weaknesses in there.

Re: Witcher 3
dropped it down to the lowest difficulty because IDC lol. Just want to sit back and enjoy the story and atmosphere (atmosphere is superb so far) Controls somewhat clunky but I'm enjoying the hell out of the game, Just finished up everything in White Orchard (the starting area) Griffin fight was fun. (even on easy lel)

Tell him to use Igni, it absolutely hates fire. Also Firenze I spent about 6 hours in White Orchard lol and it's like the smallest area in the game

Re: Witcher 3
IDK why considering I'm used to playing it safe in Dark Souls but in The Witcher games I button mash :/
still lose a fair bit of life in fights even on easy smh
yeah I did White Orchard 100% and I think I'm going to do that for every area in the game because there were a lot of interesting missions etc (liked the one with the wraith)
Finished for the day at the start of Velen, took a look at the map and it looks 10 times the size lol
The only thing I CBA with is the card game, I don't actually mind playing it but I'm way too uninterested when it comes to building a deck etc, I hope I'm not forced into playing it throughout the story

Okay, nice
Re: Witcher 3
That's the thing lol, a lot of people play like that ( myself included sometimes) even if really the combat isn't really designed for button mashing.
More about timing the rolls, evades, parries. Velen is *bleep* huge btw, I have spent about 4 hours there at least and I haven't explored even a quarter of it

Nothing seems big anymore after having spent my life traveling in WoW on foot.
How big is the world though?

So, how good is this game?
I bought it, I haven't opened it or touched it yet (work bringing me down) but will start on the weekend.
