Well he was one of the best right backs in bundesliga last season.He has a case for Spanish NT starting position.

From what I've see this season Carvajal is very good attacking wise, but defensively his positioning is bad, showed lack of awareness, lacked discipline, got easily bullied (admittedly is good in 1 on 1's), couldn't defend crosses.

Basically the Marcelo/Alba of RB's, but he's young and can always improve on his defensive side.

The two go hand in hand really. It's difficult to have a right back give you that much in attack while expecting them to be there in defense.

From what I saw - the main thing I like about him defensively is that despite getting caught out, he stops the ball from being directly advanced down his wing, giving himself or the centre back time to get into position to cover.

That for me, is good enough.
