Hailing José: As Chelsea start to click into gear, Alex Dunn looks at whether Jose Mourinho ever gets the credit he deserves:
Alex Dunn examines Mourinho the man-manager, coach, psychologist, methodologist, motivator, leader, and man
http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/15116/9001020/hailing-jose
Superb piece on Mourinho examining every facet of the phenomenon that is him. Lengthy, but very well worth the time.

I am not surprised Kalou said that, it's what Jose's always been good at and everyone knows it.

City have the strongest squad in the League, while Liverpool are the weakest link, says Mourinho on this season's title race:
Chelsea boss José Mourinho runs the rule over this season's Premier League title contenders

"I think City has the most incredible squad.
I think United is United, and history makes them contenders, too."
"Tottenham is the big spender of the summer and, because of that, they have a fantastic squad with two teams of equal players."
"At Arsenal, the manager is building a team step by step – the club is stable and buying a player like Mesut Ozil makes a difference."
"Liverpool are probably the club with least resources because, while their team looks as strong as the others, their squad doesn’t look quite so strong."
"At the same time, they don’t play in European competition, so they only play one match a week, so they are training, preparing and resting for the weekend match while the rest of us are playing in Europe."

José Mourinho: My Chelsea team are arrogant:
José Mourinho has accused his underperforming stars of arrogance and believing that just pulling on a Chelsea shirt guarantees them a win

"You cannot think you win games just because you have the nice shirt. If you think like that, you’re in trouble."
"At half-time I told them they had been competing better in training sessions than in that game. They were playing as if a goal would arrive. So you try and push people and wake them up. The problem was attitude. Things happened there I didn’t like."
"You can never forget why you are winning. Maybe we forgot at Newcastle. Our mentality was not the best. They think they win just because they are good."

I saw the headline yesterday night from the Sun but as they're now a paying website, I couldn't read the actual quotes and, thus, post it on here.

Well, considering I essentially RUN this section, I think a tardy news story posting (even though that one is dated today anyway...) once every few months is more than understandable

Another fixture gripe from unhappy Mourinho:
The Blues are back in action against West Brom three days after the game against Schalke. But Arsenal, who also played on Wednesday, have a day more to prepare for their game at Man United, while Man City have also had their game put back to Sunday

Rather nice to have a manager again willing to fight the battles and stick up for the club's interests, eh?

"Our match is very special because from every English team involved in European competitions, we are the only team that plays Saturday, so everybody has one more day to rest."
"We are the only team that plays Wednesday and Saturday, when other teams play Tuesday and Sunday, so once more I think we are really special and maybe our game against West Bromwich becomes the special Saturday and not as special Sunday."
"The people that decide the fixtures, I don't know who they are. But I think they laugh. They know what they do and they laugh because I can do nothing."
"What I know is that they think we are special."

José Mourinho says Stamford Bridge support 'not very strong' in wake of West Brom draw:
Chelsea boss José Mourinho says that while Chelsea supporters are 'in love with' the club, the atmosphere they create at Stamford Bridge 'isn't very hot'

Blame the fans for your poor results and negative football. Righto.

"This is Stamford Bridge's nature. We know that our fans are in love with the club, more than in any other club or the same, but it is a different profile."
"We know Stamford Bridge is not a very hot atmosphere, not a very strong atmosphere normally, and we accept that."

Re: The Official José Mourinho Thread
EPL has become even more competitive this season, suddenly 7-8 teams are good enough to win it and the pressure is showing on managers. They have to win it by all means. Mou doesn't want to leave a stone unturned. Typical of him.
Style - Chelsea got one - Defensive like it or not. Change in style - It can wait as long as we win.

"It's my time. I spent three years with Jose Mourinho and he supported me every day. I learned a lot with him and I'm ready to start.
"I have been speaking with him a lot and he recommended to come here because he believes in this project like me."

For Mourinho, it's elegance — with discreteness:

"I’m not a fashion victim. But I like to dress well and wear things in which I feel comfortable. As a football manager, I often wear either tracksuits or classic suits, of course depending on the occasion. I have neither a sweater orange and yellow in the closet. I like when fashion is modern and understated, and I prefer the dark blue, grey or black… Honestly, I’m not particularly vain. In my closet there is just clothes that actually wear. Also, I don’t buy much (clothes), but if I do, I know exactly what I want…. Sometimes I feel good in a perfectly fitting suit, and other times in a tracksuit… A lot of people worry too much about their clothes. I don’t think looking good is -should be- the most important thing. It’s important to win games, titles and trophies… Of course it’s great to look good and be well dressed, but at the end of the day is not the most important thing in football.”
